Not Western hunting, though he's done it out West, but Dave Owens is a turkey killer. Pinhoti Project. Helluva turkey caller.

Say what you want, but I like the Hunting Public guys. They kill some big white tails almost all over the country (excluding the SE, they had a wake up call on that front). Sure, they're Insta/YouTube famous, but realistically, the folks with programs on the Outdoor Channel, etc are all on private ground.
Those guys have worked hard to get where they are, and they seem like good hunters too. And they like to give out lots of tips and tricks for how and what they do on a successful and unsuccessful hunt. A lot of the personalities don't do that.

Never met Randy, but I know a whole mess of people in MT that aren’t happy about blowing up their whitetail spot, same could be said about a lot of areas, and his whole “burn yer points” pandering just makes me laugh. Guys that blow up units around the west for profit, I’m not a huge fan of…

I have zero respect for guys making a living blowing up states, units, or drainages which is 95% of them now. Some of these guys also tout draw odds and "application strategies" then buy landowner tags etc even more so now that they have blown up draws.

I have even less respect for the guys that know but claim their activity doesn't have a impact on draw odds or the absolute shit show a lot of the industry is going?

Steve Isdahl.
Blacktail hunter Sheep Moose guide
I liked his stuff before he started spewing the Big Foot B.S. can't watch him any more and take his previous stories with a huge grain of salt.
I have no respect for Tom. He said on a podcast he didn’t necessarily enjoy hunting but he was good at making hunting videos so that’s what kept him hunting.

Not a great line of thinking but at least he said it. I would put money on it that there is a LARGE portion of hunting "celebrities" that feel exactly the same way. Also, look at the trends in the industry. It was Mule Deer, Antelope, then Elk. Then Aoudad and Coues deer were all the rage for film guys. NZ was popular for a couple years. Oh here comes Spring Black Bear and Turkey hunting.

I have been in enough hunting camps to know the vast majority of hunters of all ages have MAYBE a couple things they like to hunt. Somehow most every on film hunter likes to do it all? absolutely not...they do it for content 100%.

Any hunting video that brings prayers or gospel into it, I’m out.

Religion is like a penis.
Nice to be proud of, but if you take it out and wave it in my face there’s gonna be a problem.
Funniest saying I've seen all month - sorry, but I'm going to have use that one.

I've met Randy Newberg and he's a real guy, he said he turns down sponsors all the time and only hunts with what he wants to use, doesn't get paid for the products he uses. He's definitely genuine
He uses Kenetrek because he's buddies with the owner. I guarantee it. You don't make your buddy pay you.

I really enjoy watching remi warren, he seems like an extremely talented individual who’s still humble. I think as far as western big game remi and Ryan lampers might be the most skilled, but I haven’t seen all “celebrities” and I find most of them intolerable. I have a buddy who is probably as skilled as any pro hunter but no one knows his name.

As far as just fun to watch YouTube videos I like watching Steven Drakes channel, if you like pretty videography then I’d recommend it.

Care to elaborate or just gonna throw shade without saying why?

I already did once on this same thread somewhere, but they offer an “Advanced Mule Deer Tactics” online course for $180. My buddy purchased it and when we checked it out you could get the same information from a simple Wikipedia search of mule deer. There was no way to leave a review or anything. It was really really bad lol. Basically the most fundamental information of hunting any species. Obey the wind, scout before season, walk quietly, use your glass.
