Legit boonie hat?

Looking for recommendations for a “legit” boonie hat where I can cut back the brim (if necessary).

I decided to trim a Rothco boonie I’ve had for a few year and discovered the brim stitching was fake. Not ripstop-ish. Turned my $15 hat into a $0 hat.

I can’t find any online sources that mention ripstop or stitched brims so I thought I’d check with the gurus here.
