Been hunting out west multiple times with success on elk and mule deer but this is first time pronghorn hunting. Got my 16 and 14yr olds with me. All three of us have tags.

With school activities and volleyball season, we have to go the last week of the season which is next week. We are hunting north of Medicine Bow.

Weather next week looks mid 20’s to the mid 40s and small chance of precipitation. Great hunting temps in my opinion.

Couple questions,

Pronghorn any harder to hunt in late season besides being more spooky?

Is that area straight up gumbo when it gets wet?

Are there an influx of hunters during the last week since it’s folks last chance?

Any other advice for end-of-season pronghorn?

Thanks for any input on these.

I did a MD hunt in the Shirley's in '21 but drove through the prairie regions getting there and they are full of pronghorn. One guy in camp had a pronghorn tag and filled it in a few hours the afternoon he arrived in camp. I think you will do well regardless of other factors if the weather is good.

The mud does get pretty sticky when wet.
