Probably been discussed a few times, but with the soaring cost of beef, probably need to really get serious about putting some elk meat in freezer again this year. Anyone have any solid landowners or guys to work with for purchasing a late season cow tag or access to a depredation tag. Probably utah, don't really want to travel too far away from Idaho.

"Cheap" beef cuts are running approximately $5 per lb.

If you can get elk meat cheaper than that, it makes economic sense.

My buddy is a cattle rancher here in SW Idaho - beef prices are thru the roof and not slowly down anytime soon. Financially going to be a good year for him.

You can buy premium beef, lamb, or pork, and you dont have to justify hunting to me. But its definitely not a good financial to hunt to save money on meat prices
