I'm heading to the McKenzie mountains for a Mountain Caribou and Moose hunt towards the end of September and will run into early October. I currently wear Kenetrek Mountain Extreme boots with 400 grams thinsulate. I was hoping to use these along with Kuiu gaiters. The outfitter is recommending pac boots for the hunt. Should I get a new pair of boots or work with what I got?
I don't think we will be crossing streams but then again if there is snow on the ground my guess is the leather will eventually get wet no matter how much wax I have on them. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
