I have been lucky enough to draw an Utah tag in the south cache until if anyone has any information on the current herd, how last years crazy weather affected them, and access. Do I need to have access to a snow mobile I have never hunted in the mountains that late in the year I don’t 100% know what to expect anyone willing to help me understand what I need to be prepared for would be a lot of help thanks!

Here's the honest truth man. Elk hunting is hard and it's only getting harder. If you've spent a reasonable amount of time on here, which you say you have, you'll have noticed that no one is just handing out free information to a generic "need info" blast. For people to be willing to share hard earned knowledge about the game, they're going to want to see that you either A. contribute on the forums helping others (have you? I see a kill in your photo, congrats btw, but you have 6 postings none of which are you offering assistance to anyone else or sharing your knowledge with others) or B. at least provide some sort of evidence that shows that you have done a reasonable amount of leg work on your own before asking.

Have you done any research on herd numbers on your own? Seasonal weather for an area is not hard to find. If you want a decent shot at getting some useful information for your hunt I suggest you delete this post, search this site and google after work for a few nights and start a new post showing you've put for the effort and present the very specific questions you need help with. You'll also probably have better luck posting in the Elk Hunting forum, not Conservation.

Or you can ignore this and offer salty responses and continue to wonder why no one is telling you where to find elk. Congrats on the tag. Good Luck!
