Last three books you've read?

When The Lion Feeds & Sound of Thunder by Wilbur Smith
The Son By Phillip Meyer.

They’re great reads and extremely well done on audible as well!

I'm 61, I don't think I've read 3 books since high school, so I'll disqualify myself. I'm just not a reader. I have been reading one of Aaron Franklins books, mostly on airplanes but I'm a third of the way through it in 3 years or so.

Hush of the Land by legendary Bob Marshall Wilderness outfitter Smoke Elser is well written and a great book if you like packing and the backcountry.

The Emerald Mile - Kevin Fedarko (10/10, will be re-reading shortly)
Brave the Wild River - Melissa L. Sevigny (9.5/10)
Covered with Night - Nicole Eustace (5/10, slow, not much of a story)

Work has been really slow, so after I catch up on weekly podcasts I'm finishing a book every day or two depending on how good they are.

A couple more I recently listened to that were very good:
A World on the Wing - Scott Weidensaul
Trail of the Lost - Andrea Lankford

I generally read real light/fluffy beach read type books, and not really many serious books. I read to turn my brain off most of the time.

So with that in mind here is my last 3.

  • The Final Hunt - Audrey J Cole (going to listen to book 2 in this series shortly)
  • The five star weekend - Elin Hildebrand (real cheesy beach book but so good)
  • Desperation - Steven King
I enjoyed all of them but I totally realize 5 star weekend is not up the alley of many people on this forum

I was in my early teens when this happened, so I heard about it. Had no idea what was going on.

I usually read multiple books at once. Read a lot on my iPad as well.

Bookbub and early bird books, check em out if you read e books.

I like to read A Christmas Carol around Christmas as well and need to get to that this year. Another one to check out is The Christmas Box. I just read that one again, it's a good reminder of what's important as a parent.

Finishing up " Rangers, Trappers and Trailblazers" book about the Bob Marshall wilderness area.

Curious if anyone has any reccomendations for books similar to this one?

Undaunted courage I listened to on E book recently, it was quite interesting for a guy who doesn’t know anything about that time. I think I’d give it a re listen even.

A book book I just finished is this one. A buddy wrote it, his trips from BC. A true family man with a passion for adventure. I highly recommend it if you like multiple short stories with photos. Very well written and exciting.

Still working on 2 and 3, but recently read Meditations by Marcus Aurelius, not the easiest read but gets you thinking and has some things that you can apply to life
