I'll be in Vegas for the SCI convention and would like to get out for a trail run or workout. Anyone else going to the SCI convention or who just might be in Vegas?

I'm finding out today if I'm going for sure. Sounds like a good idea.

Just keep me posted. I've been in contact with another guy who is still trying to make his decision also.

Even if you aren't going can you give us some good trail locations around Vegas to go run, anyone..

I'm not much for "trails" but if you guys wanna see some furry curled horn creatures I can point you in the right direction. You can decide how crazy you wanna get. There are plenty of cliffs/hills/slides and such in sheep country. Just start following them for a bit and you will get plenty of exercise. The country won't be quite as eye appealing as red rock. But I leave that area to the granola fellas.

Thanks Hard Stalk, I just text with a guy I know. He lives just outside of Vegas and is training for the CDA Ironman. He runs the Red Rock trails and will take us in there. Not sure how many "granola fellas" will be there on a week day in February but wouldn't think it would be very many. Looking forward to this run.

Redrock is definetly cool. There are other areas if you want a view of las vegas to run as well. One is near Anthem to the south, another is clark county shooting complex to the north about 45min drive from strip, bonus they have trails with 3d targets for archery on a loop. Mountains edge is to the south and west of I-15.
