Large primers for paramount pro

Don't they recomment large magnum for BH209? I've heard the large work fine except maybe in cold temps...

So this is the issue I keep hearing. My old gun is the Acura V2 LR and I use the magnums however now for the paramount they say to only use the large primers. Anyone shooting magnums out of the paramount?

Correct me if I'm wrong... The Accura uses 209 primers and the Paramount uses the Variflame system, which uses the Large Rifle Primers? Regular large rifle primers are hotter than 209 magnum primers. I have not shot the Paramount but have used both regular and magnum large rifle primers in my Smokeless Powder Muzzys and have not had any issues.

I'm shooting the large rifle out of my pro. I never tried a magnum. what would be the advantage?

As said above your confusing two different ignition systems. The paramount uses the vari flame system which uses large rifle primers in a "module" Your accura uses a 209 which is a shotgun primer. When using a 209 system especially with blackhorn a magnum 209 is recommended. With the variflame system a large rifle primers is sufficient.
Finding them right now is a tough task but they are showing up more and more. I'd you want to order by the brick get on the notification list from all the big retailers. Since you won't need a whole lot because of the volume of shooting with a muzzloader I'd try a want to buy add on a local website....a 100 count sleeve would get you a lot of shooting.

that is what i understand as well and agree. Really now i just need to find large primers. seems every store/online is out
