The first thing I notice that makes it stand apart from the Garmin is that it can take a down range velocity reading.

What is the use case for a downrange reading? I ask because any time I've used ballistic solvers, I'm primarily using MV only.

How’s the Garmin app? We know the Labradar will be buggy and their customer support will be less than helpful. The downrange velocity will probably be limited to 100 yards from muzzle.

Those images aren't a real product, they are renderings. I wonder if they actually have the real deal yet or are scrambling trying to salvage what they can after dicking around for so long and not supporting the original very well? Plus the mostly failed app that never worked except for the few lucky souls out there that could make it work.

I've heard two cases: one is for archery so that you know your arrow speed through the range. Another is that people can use that info to develop custom ballistic coefficients? Not sure how useful the second one is if you can proof your drop curves out to 600+ yds...

Yeah, I have a labradar. Can't say other than just piqued interest the downrange velocities have ever served me any purpose.

I would buy the Garmin if I needed a chronograph. Can use Applied Ballistics with a Garmin watch as well.
