Kutana pants stretch at all?

I really want to like these pants. The only issue is how tight they are in the thighs. Do these stretch out at all? I swear you can see my panty line. I may just have to go back to Eddie Bauer or something. It’s tough to find good pants for bigger legs.

I went 34x30's in my Kutanas to get them to fit in the thighs. A tad loose in the waist that way (I'm closer to a 32x29) but I don't notice any significant bunching or pressure points with a pack.

I can take some pics/video tonight.

They stretch, or the old ones did. I know they recently updated with water proof paneling. Mine fit the same out of the wash but fit perfect after moving around a bit.

I think we have different ones. These are the “stretch” lightweight pants. These don't have any waterproof panels.

I have this same issue. 34 waste is perfect, but the thighs are way too tight. Sizing up to 36 the waste is way too big and the thighs are perfect. And different colors fit differently as well.

Yea you are right, I didn’t realize they have both. I have 3 pairs of the stretch, what I said was in respect to those, not the new.

I ordered when they first came out, got the 34s (my normal size) and sent back for 36 because of the thighs. 36 were a little big in the waist but thought I could make it work because the legs fit better. After 2-3 days of wear on a hunt they stretched so much that they would be falling off or bunching with a belt. I can’t wear them anymore and have 2 pairs of 34s that fit like a glove, just have to let them stretch a bit when new and after a wash.

Ditto; I really wanted to like them too, but they make the legs "skinny" with a low rise waist using NO stretch material. The only stretch in these pants is in the name.

Try the Born Primitive Terrain pants. Lots of stretch with better layout than Zion's.

Valid and assessable on the low rise waist. My whale tail might show. I looked at those terrains - looks like no hip or thigh vents. The Frontier Lite does have them though. Have you tried those?

How does the color change the fit? I’m not married to a color. Fit is more important.

True, the Terrain pants don't have hip vents, but the material is quite light so they probably wouldn't help much. The Terrain's are a very lightweight pant. I haven't had them long so I can't comment on durability.

I did try the Frontier Light 2.0 pants. The Frontier's were probably my favorite from a design and functional standpoint. The material is quite stretchy and comfortable and it felt like a real quality pant. They are what I would call a mid-weight pant. All those pockets add material and the material felt more durable than the lightweight Terrain pants. Unfortunately for me, the articulated knee was too low (I'm short) so I sent them back. However, for an average heighted person, I think these pants will soon be the new go-to pants. They really are very nice. They blow the Kuiu Attack pants out of the water IMO because the material is so much better.

Best Kuiu pant I have ran.

The waste bunching up would suck but maybe size up and them take to a sew shop and see what they can do. An extra step, with extra cost, but to me, these pants would be worth it.

I have the same problem as OP. 34 look like first post. I sexed up to 36 and thought they would be alright. Wore them one day climbing steep vertical with downfall and they went in the sale pile. Too tight in the thigh and I found there is not much stretch in the circumference direction. The waist was manageable for me. That was several years ago so I’m about due to try them again and see if the fit has changed any.
