I barely got my order through. I had my cart ready, then at go time I checked out. I still had to refresh the page a couple times for it to go through. Server was definitely full..

I was lucky that the sale showed up for me about an hour before they said it would. Absolutely no problems getting the order through in short order.

I'm glad I checked my email after a weird log-in process on the purchase page...an order went through that I wasn't expecting. Luckily it was what I wanted. Sure wish they had the merino gloves in M in any color in stock though.

I couldn't get on first thing this a.m. either, so went to town and did errands. When I came back around noon, I got on and ordered what I wanted and all was available except the 210 merino. Nice early Xmas gift. Thanks, Kuiu!

Wow, Kuiu doesn't stock up on popular items and sizes. Not sure what a 3 day sale is good for when it's all gone months ago and what was left, is gone in the first few hours.

I was on at 9:30 central time and placed my order with no problem. The site was down for quite a while but they were still taking phone orders.

Picked up a 3xl Chinook jacket to try on new jackets for layering. I have the 2xl on backorder now for a while. I had the xl but that was just tight.

Everything that I wanted was available minus the Attack pants.
I don't see a problem with back ordered items not being on discount. It makes sense to me. If you can't keep up with demand for a particular item at regular price then don't lower it.
Would be nice if everything was available though.

Generally speaking, in retail there are 2 reasons to have a "sale". 1 to move stale inventory, 2 to create cash flow. Neither of these involve paying for more inventory to sell for less margins.
If Kuiu sells out everything in stock, they just turned everything in the warehouse into cash. then they can inventory up on the items that sell well at full margins.
Remember they are manufacturer and retailer, not a common business model.

My package was here this morning. Seems to be a lot of demand for their product. Ordered some guide gloves as Christmas presents for my son and brothers. I personally couldn't find anything that I needed as I am pretty well stocked between KUIU and Kryptek already.

That's a good point. I'm just disappointed in not being able to get some Kuiu stuff. I've never used it and doubt I'm gonna wait till the things I want are back in stock and more expensive.

One reason you see so many year end sales is that companies don't want to carry over inventory into the new year. What they do carry over, they have to pay taxes on. Kuiu is merely trying to avoid paying taxes on surplus stock. Obviously, the are out of a lot of things, other items may be heavily stocked so they are trying to balance it out with a sale. They could never have a sale and probably have the same inventory problems, but selling off overstock at 25% off is likely cheaper than paying taxes on the inventory for 2 fiscal years.

I don't own any kuiu gear other than the bino harness I love that thing.

Tonight I ordered some night star gloves and a pair of 40" guide pants. I wear a 36 but figure I can get them taken in. And I don't like my pants tight around my legs. So hopefully they fit good when taken in
