Kuiu Venture 2300 versus the Exo K4 2200. Thoughts?

Anyone own both of these bags and can give me feedback? I have the Venture 1800. Like the pack but it seems very light duty. Will be used as a day pack. Don't care about hauling. I will only be used to carry accessories, lunch, and water.

The 1800 has held up fine and is durable but material is thin and don't care for the strap system if you are using the water pockets for accessories. I have a 22mag but it is heavy and is bulky. Looking at the k4 2200 now.

Thoughts? I think I can buy 6 of the Kuiu packs (sale) for the price of the K4 or my 22 mag. Haven't been able to see or handle the K4 system in person.

I have the venture 2300 and the K4. If your not hauling weight, I think the K4 would be over kill and not required. The K4 excels under load, backpack hunting, meat hauling. If I'm going for a day hike, or a quick scout, I usually grab my 2300 over my K4 or ProLT set up.

I own both. If meat hauling is not needed then I would grab the Kuiu pack every single time. The kuiu 2300 is actually a really nice pack. Well thought out.

Same analogy then like the kuiu compared to the kifaru 22 mag. I do like the the kuiu. My biggest issue/gripe is the strap system/placement are lacking to be able to easily secure and remove items like a tripod. However, I do like the weight and configuration of the Kuiu. I will pull the trigger on the Kuiu to get a little bit more storage. I think I will move my spotter from the water bottle pocket to inside the pack. I plan to get a K4 5000 for a spike camp and meat hauler. The kuiu venture on sale is about as inexpensive you can get for a pack.

I have them both and like stated above, they are not even close to the same.

I really like the Venture pack, but it I only use it for my tree stand / blind hunts or if I need an EDC. For everything else I use my Exo.

I have the 2200 and 3600 Exo bags, but really use the 2200 much more often. I do all of my scouting and day hunting using the Exo. I just like the comfort of that pack for carrying a spotter, 15's, tripod and anything else I might need. I don't personally feel that the Venture would be comfortable in that situation for me. Having said all this, the Exo would be overkill for a tree stand pack (for me).

I don't plan to get rid of either one as they serve specific purposes.

I have had the Kuiu 2300 for at least a few years. I have had the Exo k4 3600 since release. The only time I use the Exo is if I am going to need to haul meat. I use the Kuiu for tree stands, turkey hunting, predator calling, fishing, etc. the Exo is a strong and well built pack, but can be cumbersome compared to the Kuiu when climbing a tree, trying to maneuver on the ground, roll under a fence, etc. The only complaint I have on my Kuiu is that the buckles tend to slip. I have to keep the Velcro strap tenders tight against the buckle to prevent this.

I got my Kuiu 2300 on sale for under $200 from what I remember.

how does the size of the k4 2200 compare to the kuiu venture 2300? On paper the k4 size should be perfect for me if it is basically the same size as the kuiu pack, but everyone seems to say it "feels" smaller than a 2200ci. As long as the 2200 can hold basically what the 2300 does I plan to order one.

I already have a k3 3200 and kuiu venture 2300, but looking at the 2200 for a quick overnighter or day pack when I need meat hauling capability.

I'd say they are close to the same size. I don't really use the side pockets on the K4 2200 as they take away space from the inside of the pack.

I guess I can't tell you exactly what you are looking for as I don't pack the same things in my Kuiu for a treestand hunt, as I do for my other hikes / hunts in the K4. I can easily get everything I need for a day of scouting (spotter, 15's, food, water, rain gear, tarp, tripod, etc.) in the K4. I feel that carrying all that in my Kuiu would be uncomfortable.

I think you'd like the 2200 bag. Exo is awesome to deal with, so if you got it and it wasn't what you were looking for it should be an easy return.

Good luck.

Ordered it yesterday. I packed warm/cool weather overnighter gear in the 2300 with room to spare for another heavy jacket, so I think I should be fine in the k4 2200. Looking forward to trying it out. And it cuts off close to half a pound from my k2/k3 3200 without the lid.
