Anyone have experience with the Kuiu Teton insulated jacket.

I am not well versed in puffy jackets. From what I read it is synthetic and may not compress as well as a real down jacket.

$66 seems like a pretty good deal. Sale ends today. Is there any major deficiencies with this item?

Thanks.

I have their snap jacket which I think is the street version -similar build and insulation. I love that thing. Only issue I have is sizing. I am usually a xxl in base layers and an xl/xxl in jackets depending on how much layering room I want. In kuiu I am xxl and xxxl. I don’t think they do returns on sale items so you have to roll the dice a bit. Great price on what I expect will be a solid piece of kit.

Thanks. I am a large in most jackets but I planned to order and XL for the same reason.

The face fabric is too weak, pills quite easily, and isn’t all that tough. But it feels great. For that price, I doubt you’ll beat it, good buy for sure. But just be aware things like backpack straps, gun sling, deadfall, etc will trash that face fabric in a heartbeat.

Coat runs true to size doubt you need to size up. It’s warm and comfortable cheap coat that will pill. Make sure you pair it with a shell as it doesn’t block the wind which works well for actively wearing it. Liked the fit/cut a lot better then the kenai

One of my favorite Kuiu pieces. I sold mine simply because my wife has the solid color that she doesn’t wear so no need for two in the house.

Only reason to size up would be if you have long arms.

I didn’t find it as fragile as others but it’s not a brush jacket. As a bow hunter it’s hard to beat it for how quiet it is, makes a nice warm layer you don’t have to remove to make a stalk.

It won’t be enough warmth in mid season but adds a lot under another jacket.

My medium could barely stuff into a one gallon ziplock. Very acceptable for a synthetic in my opinion.

Again it’s not a substitute for a down jacket but very versatile, one of my most used pieces.

I bought mine for only 15% off which is about the value limit to me. For the current sale it’s a great buy

I use the Teton for day trips. Got a great deal on it last winter. Its just as good as the Kenai but lacks the extra features. I find it to be pretty durable and warm for what I need it for; been comfortable down into the mid 30's no problem. Because of it's not-so-great packability, I bring the Super Down instead for multi-day trips...
