Any Kuiu tent owners out there?

I'm looking at the Summit Refuge and adding the mesh body so it is double walled with a floor but I don't see many reviews online or good videos on youtube. I'm also interested in the Mountain Star but the refuge appears to be more versatile with the option to add a stove down the road and even adding the poles, footprint, and mesh body it comes in lighter than a mountain star with a footprint.

Curious for those that have one how the condensation build up in the refuge is when it's used with just the footprint vs when it's used with the mesh body.

I just picked one up and have toyed around with it in the back yard a little bit. It's nice, I don't plan on adding mesh walls at this time to mine. I did pick up some tyvek for a floor. Can't speak to the condensation quite yet but hoping to use it in July on some scouting trips.

My dad bought the one man Ultra Star tent last year. It has its pros and cons for sure. He has arthritis pretty badly in his knees and ankles so weight is definitely a top priority for him. As far as the condensation...it's not awful, but it is an issue. He knew that when he bought it so he packed a small hand towel to wipe the inside of the tent down. Kind of a pain to have to do, but that is expected for a single wall tent. To him, the condensation issues were worth it to save weight. As far as durability, it seems really durable as my dad is pretty rough on his gear and it still looks brand new. He used it all summer on scouting trips 6 trips) and for our week long September archery elk hunt. He also packed it on an October rifle muley hunt where we encountered single digit temps and quite a bit of snow and it performed well. Hope this helps!

Mesh won't have much impact on condensation accumulation. Purpose is to keep critters out and to prevent occupants from touching the walls that have said condensation. Will slightly inhibit air flow, so there would likely be more condensation accumulated with mesh.

I bought my Mountain Star before the Summit Refuge came out. No complaints whatsoever about the Mountain Star! I would have opted for the Summit for the option of adding a stove if it was available back then. I also bought the Ultra Star and didn’t end up keeping it. Instead I went to an MSR 1p Hubba for my solo hunts. I felt like the room/condensation didn’t justify the weight savings. Under heavy moisture with a down bag I felt it was inevitable I would contact the sides of the tent.

Any other mountain star or storm star owners out there? I'm also interested in what they have to say. All the reviews on web site seem ok but who knows about that.

I only have positive things to say about the Mountain Star. Fast and easy set up, lightweight for it's size, and proved to be solid in a downpour.

The integrated fly make set up a breeze, and I like not having to mess with a separate rain fly. Dual door and vestibules make it nice for two people and gear.

I’ve got a mountain star 2p the vents work great and manage condensation well plus the fact you can operate them from inside the tent is nice.
