Did KUIU update their bottom sizing to actually fit?!

I'm used to sizing up in KUIU bottoms. But, have made 3 different returns / exchanges to my normal size.

Am I going crazy?! WTF is going on?

I just left UPS. If my normal-measured pant size comes and they are too small, I'm going to lose it. But, wanted to post this see if anyone else is experience with KUIU pants.

Haha I feel that same about their fitment. It's so inconsistent between pieces too. Drives me nuts when they charge you if it's on clearance too. Such a guessing game.

Hopefully they fixed it.

I’ve even noticed this from one color to another.. same pair of pants, some colors say “we strongly suggest sizing up” and you click on another color and it doesn’t say that.

Obviously different batches or coming out of different factories, but come on…

Maybe due to them expanding their market to a fatter audience (whitetail and eastern hunters)? When you already wearing a 40 waist or a XL you really feel bad if you have to go an even larger size up.

May sound a little silly. But i'm serious.

I've seen that too on KUIU styles.

I've worked in retail / apparel on the Global Product and Merchandising side of the business for 15 years, and it's industry standard to have a 2 inch variance on final production.

But, that's generally consistent across cotton tees and hoodies. For performance apparel, there's a lower threshold for variance (tolerance). All said,

It's shocking to me how inconsistent KUIU is though. I'm hoping my exchanges come back and actually fit.

I love the Kutana Pants, but I'm nearing wits end. If they don't come back with a good fit, I'm going to only run Fjallraven Kebs / Agiles and now that SG makes in between sizes, I'll go that route.

In my view they shrunk their sizing and got so inconsistent I cant buy anything. I have a pair of attack pants 6 years old that fit great, new ones I cant button. Other new pants are tight but work. Ive literally seen over an inch difference in waist from different line of pants that are the same waist size ordered at the same time.

I think I’ve just returned the last thing I’ll ever buy from Kuiu. The sizing is downright absurd. Changes every 6 months. I’ve bought the same item in different colors and they fit like different sizes. The axis vest was probably 2 sizes different, in the same labeled size.

I have 2 Gila hoodies, ordered another in the same size and it fits at least 1 size smaller.

I like their stuff when it fits. But they either charge you 7.50 or you purchase your own label to send it back for a refund. Exchanges are free last I checked at least.

I’d say 90% of the things I’ve returned in hunting/outdoor gear have been to Kuiu. It’s just too much of a hassle at this point.

Sizing is very inconsistent. Love their stuff when it fits, but like above, a bit of a hassle if it doesn’t. No rhyme or reason.

Tried buying a pair of black attack pants. Bought the same size that fits great in camos and other solids… can’t get the black ones buttoned.

Exchanges are free, but they take a long time. I ordered something on May 15th, it delivered on the 21st.
I sent it back, same day, for an exchange.

The exchange delivered to KUIU on May 28th.

The new size has not shipped (yet).

When this process is all said and done it'll take 15-20 business days to get a pair of pants that actually might not fit even still. LOL.

The reason I didn't just return the pants and order a new size is because I'd have lost money on the return.

Note: I excluded Memorial Day and Saturdays from the total day count even though FedEx works on Saturdays.

Writing this out, I think I'm right there with you re: last thing I'll buy from KUIU.

I hope the folks that work for KUIU read this (and all the other threads out there for that matter), and get their sh*t together. It's 2025, I consider KUIU a premium brand. Their operations and sizing should be commensurate with their price points and quality. It's a shame to spend so much money on expensive fabrics and technology to have it not fit consistently or take a month to find the right size.

I’m in between sizes myself and I’m almost ready to get some kutanas myself. I want to be sure I’m understanding you in your recent returns, cause I was planning on sizing up as is suggested on their website.
Did you most recently size up and have the pants fit loosely?

I have a pair of kutana pants that I bought 4 years ago that fit like a glove. Bought another pair last year in the same size and they were waaaay to long

Yeah, man - exactly.
I'm 5'11, 175 and have always been in between sizes. But, with KUIU it's really bad - I ordered 32's in Attack and Kutana. Both were way too big.

I exchanged for the 30's, they arrive on Monday. I'm hoping they fit - I love the pants. But, the sizing inconsistency is annoying.

For reference, I do prefer my pants to fit snug - I can't stand when they bag out and stretch over 5-7 days of consistent wear. I like em' snug out of the wash. And, just right at the end of a hunt or wearing a few days.

My attacks are tight my Kutanas are big. Both same size. And most regular sized pants in the industry are 32”. Kuiu 34.

Did you more recently get your kutanas? I’m feeling much more confident in 32 regular for them. I don’t worry much about the 34” inseam cause I have a more slender build. I definitely hesitated at kuiu’s size chart when every other pant I wear is 32 in the waist.
On a different note, I think I’d be better off waiting on the outdoor vitals release of their pant. On the rokcast pod I recently heard that they hope to release them in September, and I’ve already waited this long..

My last pair was bought about a year ago.

Got the exchanges in the mail - they fit. First time since 2023 I've purchased my 'normal' size from KUIU.
Wow. I might roll the dice and order something else, see what happens.

i try and read the description, if a color says size up i size up, I think they re did all their pants a few years ago to "normal" sizing. I feel there closeouts are the old style that fit tight they need to get rid of.
