I guess I can quit kicking myself for not getting the Chugach last go round, my wife will be doing it for me after she finds out I just spent 450 bucks for rain gear!!

But it was on sale! It's not what you spent but how much you saved

What he said. Always easier to ask forgiveness than permission! I am thinking about ordering more and I already dropped a lot on the last sale. I don't have a guide jacket, SD jacket or base layers. What 1 or 2 items should I go for?

Base layers first, i prefer building clothing systems from base layers out.

Yeah maybe I will get a couple base layers. You guys like 185 or 230 if I only buy one? Tops and bottoms of course

For base layers I would take a serious look at First lite, especially if your a bigger chested individual. Their baselayer is the one thing I don't like that I have from Kuiu.

I actually really like my base layers from Kuiu... I should mention that I have a set of both original 185 and 250 100% merino wool made in canada. Either set or together keep me covered in most all sitiuations. I am very careful with it and take good care of it... never will be able to replace the 250... and Im afraid the newer stuff made overseas wont be the same as my 185 from canada.

I have a super down set so layers and insulation are covered. Will be looking for the tiburon next go around with sales.

I love the 250, really the only piece of merino from them I still wear. It is really really good, wish they still made it.

I cannot wait for people to start selling the stuff they got at 25% off, people are gonna start making a killing off kuiu gear.

Yeah, I spent a bit much on the sale. I ordered an ICON 7200, rain cover and two belt pouches. I visited their store the Sunday of the sale and tried on the Chugach pants and jacket. Took the pants home with me and let my wife order the jacket for my birthday. Got a free hat too while I was there. :)

Jacket has already arrived, but the pack and accessories I ordered first are still processing.

Got my 1850 w/suspension (no frame) and after a couple hikes didn't care for it. Listed it on Ebay and sold it for $143 more than I paid for it! Crazy...and I almost put a low "Buy It Now" price on it, but I was going to be gone a couple days so I let it go the duration! Crazy stuff...I still can't believe it. For me, the pack was one of those "implulse buys" Jay speaks of as I already own 3 Kifaru's and 2 MR packs! Too bad my wife's impulse buys don't work that way!
