I'm about to order a few items from KUIU.

Super Down Hooded Puffy
Ultra Merino 210 Hoodie
Merino Zip Off Bottoms

Does merino shrink? One of the few good things about my older synthetics is that none of them shrink.

I'm 5' 8" 160lbs, will a large in the hoodie and puffy be too big? I don't like my tops as short as most guys, I hate having my wrists or stomach exposed in cold weather when I put my arms straight up. I also like to wear a thermal and a hoodie under my puffy's when it's cold cold.

Should I go with the 145g weight or 210g weight in the merinos?

I'm 5'11" 200lbs with a decent build. I have a large super down hoody and it fits me well. I have 145 and 210 Kuiu merino gear. I wear 145 early season and 210 late season. As far as shrinking goes, I don't put my Kuiu merino in the dryer so I can't speak to that but I do wear First Lite boxers quite a bit and they don't shrink in the dryer.

I'm 5'8", 175, my Kuiu super down medium fits like a 2nd layer, I can get get 2 baselayers under it but no more. You might want to get the hoodie in med and the puffy in large? Generally speaking Kuiu has a smaller, athletic fit than say FirstLite.

I'm 5'8" 195. 60-40 blend of muscle and chub. The 210 quarter zip merino in large fits well (read baselayer not under armor compression tight) but I tried a guide dcs jacket in large and it fit well through the chest but the arm holes were entirely to high and tight. I would say a medium in the baselayer and a large in the super down should work. I would also tell you to use the measurements but I tried that on the guide and it didn't work out so well

I would go with large....as far as merino, I always air dry....even though my wife did dry in dryer once, luckily it was on low heat and it didn't shrink.

Thanks for the input guys. I wish they had more showrooms or a way to try on their stuff before ordering. I'm always skeptical of sizing charts online.

I just ordered 3 upper body items; guide vest in medium, peloton 240 in medium, and guide jacket in large. All fit well. I am 5'8" 170 lbs. didn't want the thinner or more close to skin layers too baggy as that adds unnecessary and constricting bulk, especially when shooting my bow. Wanted a little more room to layer under guide jacket though so went with the large.

i'll be honest kuiu's fit isn't the most standard fit out there. there is a lot of trial and error when it come with their stuff. but with that said once you fit YOUR fit you won't be dissapointed and lucky for you there are a lot of people on here who have done some of the leg work. for me i've gone through more than i'd like in the trial and error fitting but have been very satisfied once i've gotten it to what fits me and my system best.
I'm 5"10" 170
Here's some Products sizes and fit for me hope this helps:
Merino 125 SS: Medium fits perfect not too tight and not too loose one of my favorite shirts
Teton SS: Large, Medium is way to tight
Merino 145 1/4 zip: Medium fits perfect
Merino 210 Hoody: Large, Originally bought medium was way to tight in the arms fit was ok just a bit on the tight size with not much stretch Large fit a touch looser.
Peloton Hoody: Large, Originally bought a medium fit was short in the body and the hood, it was adequately sized for it's use, but i really preferred the slightly looser more comfortable fit of the large which still maintains an athletic fit just more on the size of a conventional fitting sweatshirt.
Guide jacket: Medium, i originally bought a large and was unhappy with how big it felt in the body i tend to like less bulk and extra fabric in my jackets. the medium just seemed to be the most comfortable as it offers plenty of stretch so that it's not restricting. only down side is it's not as warm as you might think for static endeavors ie treestand sits.
Super Down: Large, bought a medium it fit good but was a tad short in the arms and didn't seem to offer a lot of stretch, also was very warm
I hope this helps i can elaborate more and on some other items if you need but i didn't want this to become a monster sized post. Enjoy
Josh
