Krg bravo/echo or Rokstock for nrl hunter build

Looking for thoughts on using a krg echo/bravo or a Rokstock for a tikka nrl hunter rifle build. I have never used either and would value opinions on people who have used either for nrl hunter/prs shooting. Not worried about weight since I have a Rouggtech barrel and both will make weight for light. Trying to stay on a budget so the krg is very enticing? Also kind of considering the ultradyne chassis

Have 2 Rokstocks Ultradyne and Hnt26 stocks. The RS with its forwarded mounted rail system is good for a bipod but I don’t care for it clipped in a tripod. I would mount a mini arca closer to the mag well. RS handles great off a bag which is how I prefer it and I really like the vertical grip and LOP fits me. Using the RS you will need to upgrade the bottom metal or do something else for magazines if you need more capacity or want to run longer coal than stock Tikka stuff.

The Ultadyne use AICS mags so that’s a plus, it has a full length arca and it’s fairly light.

The recoil lug is by far more stable with the RS. Bonding the recoil lug to the UD chassis would be best.

I feel using a tripod for rear support a chassis stock is easier to get stabilized. Using bag for rear support, I think the RS has the advantage but I haven’t completely made up my mind yet.

I switched back and forth between the two and the RS proved to be more accurate.

Recoil management goes to the RS in stock form but the UD chassis you could add weight, which would make it handle better because it feels a little lighter in the front.

I've shot both in NRL matches. RS is going to be easier to make light with. I prefer the grip of the RS to the bravo, but they're both perfectly fine. Honestly with a couple thousand rounds through each, I'd really call it a coin flip, rokstok wins on weight. Mine are all CTR mags and I always shoot suppressed, so it's a little harder to make weight.

Really good insight. Thanks! What is the total weight of the UD? Was having a hard time figuring that out. I prefer a bag vs clipping in so I am less worried about the rail. Recoil management is priority. If I go RS I plan to get waters 10rd mags with extended oal, so I’m less worried about that, although they are expensive.

I usually shot my bravo closer to 16lbs and always had my rokstok under 12, so it's hard to say since it's not apples to apples. Never have an issue spotting shots with either.

I wouldnt go with the Echo due to the fact that it used factory bottom metal and mags. While this is great for a hunting gun, not Ideal for shooting matches.

The Bravo is the same ergos as the Echo but uses AICS mags, so you can run a 10rnd mag which I know is needed for PRS and Id assume NRL although I havent jumped into that world yet, but I would imagine you would exceed factory mag capacity at some point.

I would recommend the Bravo over the Rokstock due to its modularity, ease of changing length of pull, the ability to add arca rail and weight to the stock if wanted, adjustable cheek riser. In my opinion it is a better choice for a Match Gun.

Ive shot all the KRG chasis and they all manage recoil exceptionally well. I have a braked 20" 6.5 CM in an X Ray, and today I was spotting impacts at 100 yards at 18x as well as 550 yards at 18x. It weighs in right at 11lbs.

My Ultradyne with an XLR folding stock adapter and an XLR carbon stock is 42oz, my RS is 35oz.

I think this is the most likely route right now, the bravo. with the roughtech barrel weight isn't as much of an issue. If i ever go to a heavier barrel i can look at lighter options. What mags are you running? I'm currently working rounds with 153.5 and 144 bergers

24” CTR 6.5 barrel in a bravo with internal fore end weights, 1 set external mlok weights, 1 LOP spacer weight, nomad XC + recoil x brake, full length arca, bpg cover, atlas cal tall bipod, kahles i624 scope in a MpA mount, crush it level = a c-hair under 16#.

I think there’s about 2# of added weight to the chassis there IIRC. I don’t think it would balance very well without the can on the end.

I’d go with the Bravo for the full length ARCA, AICS mags, and the ability to add forend weights for balance if you’re far enough under the weight budget.

Okay, I’ll be running an nx8 with Srs rail and um rings so that maybe a few oz less. I’d guess my barrel is about a pound light. Will be running a scythe and likely get a recoilx. What is the base weight of the chassis? Think this would balance?

Weight is your friend. A loaded down bravo is *likely* going to be a better experience then a RS for the context of NRL. (No experience with either)

But unless youre making a real play at gaming NRL. The RS is probably a better overall option for hunting and an occasional match.

Im using a 25 prc tikka build with a peak 44 stock. Its 9# sans bipod with can. Maybe 10.5# with pod. Its damned jumpy compared to my OH 6 5 creed and brake. And those bullets get there quick. (My OH is a CTR in an krg xray...that i glued like a 2# brick of lead onto! )

I did well at the match today. But under 400-500 the bullet was there by the time the recoil was done.

The key is...don't miss! The few times i did it was pretty hard to make a correction.

Id also add that i wouldn't be afraid of running tikka mags. I did just that today. I've got a waters 8 rd 300 mag...mag. it
and the factory mags run smoother and more reliably (so far), then my 12 rd mdt aics's, but those have been pretty ok too. Definitely not as smooth. I think there's some other tikka mag options for more capacity in a 6.5, but not sure.
