Kuiu Pro LT 5500

I am looking at the LT 5500 for a DIY caribou hunt off the Dalton hwy next year. What are some comparable backpacks I could research? The lighter the better..
I have done that hunt twice in the last 4 years with a Kuiu pack, it will work fine. Worry more about your boots and rain gear. I think it rained about 3 days straight during one stretch this last year. Everything is wet and you're just hiking through mud and muck most of the time. Boots leaking will ruin your day.

I am in the process of trying to determine which boots to use. Any specifics you would recommend? I have seen some say they used tall rubber boots (Muck/Irish Setters).

I used Zamberlan 980s, they are a 10" boot and they worked well with gaiters. You will get in deeper water crossing drainages but for the most part it will be less than knee deep. Other hunters on my trip had Schnees leak and one tried to run 6" boots but soaked them pretty quick and swapped to a taller boot. I would say 8" boot minimum but i would go 10"

The rubber boots I can't see working without causing blisters and rubbing, at least for me. I think we did almost 70 miles over the 8 days. If you can do that in rubber boots then go for it.
