How are they? Not looking at them for hunting purposes. More of an all purpose jacket. I think these ones are made with the power stretch fabric. Any thoughts or opinions on them? How is the sizing?

They are awesome. I have 2 of them very nice warm breathable sweater that works well. I use it for my insulation under my Guide jacket plenty warm for any around the town scenario.

How is the size compared to the merino? Same fit, or does it run big? I wear an XXL in the merino. I've never tried the guide jacket on, but I'm assuming I'll need an XXXL in that. Will an XXL in the Polartec be good?

They run huge! Lucky for SHTF because that is how he got two. I normally wear an XL and I swam in them.

Yes, typical of how all over the board KUIU is with sizing, (and I realize this is a 'casual' jacket) I take an XXXL in the Kenai and a Large in this jacket. They really need to start posting sizing "hints" on all of there stuff as it is a return nightmare. With that "rant" said, I am normally a XL in these types of jackets (Mountain Hardware, North Face) but a L fit me fine in the KUIU fleece jacket. (In the KUIU merino casual jacket I am a XXL) Crazy stuff...With KUIU I have tops/jackets ranging from L to XXXL.

What dotman said., they run huge. I normally wear a L-XL in all tops but a medium in this jacket fits perfect.

Haha, I haven't fit in a med since junior high.... Until the Kuiu polartec came around :)

I'll add my .02. As others have mentioned, the Kuiu sizes are hard to figure. I had XXL in the super down and it was too small. So I now have a XXXL super down and same in Guide and Yukon and they fit fine. With that in mind, I got the 3xl in the Polartec, and while it fits, it is on the bigger side of 'fits', so probably could have gone with a 2 xl. Fwiw, I'm 6'1", 240, about 50 in. chest.

Thanks for all the information guys! I wish they would just stick to a standard athletic sizing system for all of their products. I'm hesitant to buy anything from them (not that I could now anyways since everything is out of stock) for fear that it won't fit and I'll have to return it.

It sounds like a few of us are pretty close to the same size. I'm 6'4, 250lbs with that "I'm still fat, but not really fat" muscular athletic build. What size guide jacket should I be aiming for? If they ever get any back in stock, I'd like to make my first choice the right one.

XXL would fit, but snug. If you want to layer, go XXXL. Really depends on how you want it to fit, and what you are going to use it for. If you plan on just wearing it with a merino layer or two a XXL should work. If you want it to go over an insulation piece, I'm almost positive you'll need XXXL.

I'm guessing a majority of the time would be spent wearing it over merino. I've got an XXL superdown vest that would be used as needed though.

I just bought two of these jackets. One in Black and one in Red. The black one fits as any other fleece I have (LL Bean, FL). I wear a 2X in most all of these types of jackets. The Red jacket is, how do I put this, made for someone else. There is nothing similar between the two other than the logo and the fabric. The red has the typical longer than average sleeves, the chest is about a 46" and the length is about 18" in the torso. I'd be able to wear it out hunting as a insulating layer, but I'd be too embarrassed to wear it out in public. They're very warm though, I'd recommend them to anyone. But, try them on with everything still attached in case you need to return.
