Since Kuiu discontinued the peloton 97 Zip off long John, has anyone found a similar replacement?

Looking for a lightweight fabric with some loft to it.

No I haven’t, not in a zip off anyway. They seem to be having deep discounts on all their zip off bottoms. I’m hoping there’s a new generation coming. Would be nice if the warmer ones were mapped with lighter material in some areas or had perforated sections. @KUIU ?

I’m hoping they are revamping it or something because there is nothing out there with the weight to warmth ratio of the 97

Well if nothing else it’s good to know I’m not alone.

Most scouting trips I feel like my puffy pants are overkill and would much rather have a light warm fleece base layer for morning and evening.

This. Them and the 118's aren't close in warmth, the 97s are much warmer. Different fabric type. If they discontinue those they are out of touch, the 97's are something unique to Kuiu.
Agreed. Glad I still have mine. I can't imagine they are discontinuing the 97 - It's got to be one of their more popular peices

If you haven't already, look into the stone glacier zip off bottoms. I've never owned the kuiu ones but I love the stone glacier ones i've got.

Your comparison doesn't give us anything substantial. The gohunt are great but what does that mean? Are they equal to the KUIU 97s? Are they better? Are they almost but not quite as good as the 97s?

It’s seems like there are a ton of good options out there. Most companies have offerings in this category but I can’t find another company that can equal the warmth to weight ratio of the peloton 97.

I have 3 pairs of the Kuiu zip offs. I have run them for years I think I got them the first year they came out with the peloton. Honestly other than a few holes here and there they should last me a long time. They are great base layers.

This year I have been running the Gohunt zip offs they are every comfortable and I like them just as much as the Kuiu. So if you are looking for a good replacement take a look at the gohunt.

I should have bought two pairs, never thought they would discontinue them.

Funny they have the rest of the Peloton 97 lineup???

My bet is they will update all of the 97 line. My other bet is they sold off all of the stock in the bottoms but still have stock in the tops. Once they're gone or near gone mby we'll see the updated versions. They sort of did this with a bunch or the merino over the last year. My speculation anyway.
