KUIU pant sizing change?

Hi all, ordered another pair of guide pants. I have 2 already but one got torn. Both are 34s, ordered and new set and they fit like 32s? I hate returning but have no choice but to. Seems to me a 36 would be too big. I am 5"11 and 185. Looked in the forums and seems like this is not unusual recently. I love my pair that fit right. Thoughts?

36 should fit ya well. I’m 6’2 195-200 and a 36 kuiu is just about right on the models I’ve tried. There seems to be a sizing scale jump from the 34 to the 36, the entire rise area is more roomy.

Sounds like I need to try the guides again and go with a 36. I wear 33-34 in all other pants with 34 in attacks. 34 in guides were too tight when I tried them last year so I sent them back and was also worried 36 would be too big. 5’11” and 190.

I find all their pants run small, especially if you plan to layer. I like the lack of stretch but I do size up for most Kuiu gear.

I’m so frustrated with kuiu and their inconsistent sizing!
My old 32s fit fine. New 32s and 34s are too small, new 36s are huge. Ugh. I feel like I’m taking a gamble every time I order from them. What’s worse is that the customer service is a email. No phone number? No human to talk to?

Most definitely. Many times we order 2 sizes at initial purchase. Try them on and keep what fits best. Shouldn't have to do that, but that's the way it is.

What Kuiu I have, I really like, but it is hard to fathom how inconsistent their sizing has been, for such a long time.

Yeah, kuiu is frustrating. I'm a 34 in all jeans but generally wear a 36 in kuiu. 34 kuiu seems a little tight all over. The 36 waist is a little big but works for layering and seems to fit better in the crotch. I agree about the size scaling from 34 to 36. Additionally, I've had to sell some 36 kutana because they were just way to big. Seems to be all over the map, so I've also ordered both sizes at the same time and sent back the ones that don't work. It is frustrating because I prefer kuiu to sitka pants although sitka seems to be true to size for most of their line up.

For reference, I'm 5'10", 172lbs and what I would call an athletic dad bod.

Yes this drives me nuts. I believe they are just constantly changing manufacturing locations and the fit and size changes. I had two pairs of Kutanas side by side and the reinforced knee tape was clearly 4 inches lower on one, fit was completely different.

It is a bummer. I love the KUIU stuff, especially the value vs. price in comparison to Sitka but it would be nice if they could get consistent on sizing. I wear 33/34 jeans across any brand and 'most' kuiu 34 pants fit me but some are tight. I feel like they are consistently 1/2 size too small.

Kuiu sizing seems to change constantly, I've had 38s that hung off me and 38s that were so tight I couldn't sit down.

The Guides used to run big, the last pair I got ran big but maybe they have changed again? Their "free" sizing exchange isn't that great when you have to spend money to send things back and then wait for the exchange thing to happen. It's almost worth just ordering 2 sizes and sending one back.

They have definitely gotten smaller. I wear 34's and had to go larger with my recent purchases. All the 34's from a couple years back fit just like the 36's now.

Love there pants but there sizing is the worst in the industry. I find the Attacks run small the Kutana run big. What grips me is that there are threads like this on sizing all the time and Kuiu does not get it right.

I wear a 36 but buy a 38 in everything no matter the brand. I would rather have it a little loose when not layering and wear a belt
or suspenders. I absolutely hate tight fitting athletic built clothes.

You can google Kuiu Customer Service # and find it online. They are great to deal with. However, I just got another pair of Kutana's in the same size as my existing pair and the new ones fit like leggings.

Fixing to send back some kutanas myself. Never had a pair. Wanted very much to like them. Like the material and pattern. Quad/ hams fit fine, waist gapped a bit though less than some, but the seat was almost non-existent and fit like a pair of speedos. What a disappointment.

Sitka Intercept, no back pockets, way too short fly zipper. Grrrr.

I'm no Adonis, just a relatively healthy fella that doesn't skip leg day and wants a comfy pair of hunting trousers which fit, that don't cost an entire day's wages.

Why in the world this can't be found in an athletic fit style pant in some reasonable camo pattern (yup, i like camo, i said, let the haters hate) is beyond me.

Put a little stretch in the waist, zipper the rear and cargo pockets, make them 4 way stretch, give us hip vents and offer a short/ regular/tall length with durable buttons and belt loops and don't use 10 year old boys or Fat Albert for your modeling fit! Seems like an impossible ask!

Love the Attack pants and have a second pair in the mail. We’ll see how these fit. I’ve never worn a 38 pant in my life but when the 36 Attacks came I couldn’t button them lol. They’re worth the sizing trouble imo. Love them.

Just got a pair of guides from the sale. I’m a 33/34 in every pant imaginable. 34’s aren’t baggy, but they’re not athletic cut. They fit just like a 34/34 Jean would on me. 6’/185

I'm a 34/34 in normal jeans. I had to get 38s in the Talus hybrids to have any room for a layer underneath and I got 36s in attacks and they fit pretty much perfect. No belt needed, can get 5 fingers in the waist band. Hope they dont shrink when washed as they will be small then. Also have 36 kutanas on the way.

One thing I've learned now with Kuiu is order the size you need and the next size up then return the one that doesnt fit. Their sizing on everything is all over the place and inconsistent.

Kuiu pants sizing has been very inconsistent for me. 36 attacks, way too big. Recently purchased 34 attacks, too small. 36 Kutanas, huge. 36 talus hybrid fit perfect.

Kuiu tops have been great. Every XL has fit well. I’ve now moved on to Stone Glacier pants in a M//L. Much more consistent sizing.

I tried both Stone Glacier De Havilland lites, and the Born Primitive Frontier lites.

They are wonderful pants. Fit and features way better than kuiu. The problem with both of these pants is that the fabric is just way too loud. Like walking around in windbreaker pants! Sadly I had to return both pairs.

Rumor is stone glacier will make some softer and quieter pants in 2025.
