Here is the Kifaru Carbon Composite stay for those that haven't seen it.

Sandwich structure similar to the orginal laminated bow limbs. It's only as strong as the wood grain. It's a proven design that has stood the test of time as long as the wood stays dry and no moisture makes it in.

It's more durable and more resistant to impact breaks but it also heavier.

It's all about trade offs in the composite world nothing is better then the other... All have pluses and minuses

Yeah it has to be heavier but then again it is lighter overall since a large sheet isn't needed in the frame (bikini). The bikini frame is 2lbs 5oz and the Kuiu frame 2lbs 10oz so in the end the Kuiu weighs more by frame only comparison.

Frame only number or frame/suspension number? With out a strength test its kind of mute really but from lab tests I've seen 100% CF by weight is unmatched.

With that said I still wouldn't carry a 100% CF frame or bow riser. Not to say it's a wrong choice for someone just my opinion.

I do Think Kuiu should of traded out owners for new ultra frame at the min or done a at cost buy back program or credit because I think the orginal had design flaws in the 4 stay areas. Ultra frame is a much better design.

I don't hang out there so are you guys sure the Kuiuteer sing along camp is permanently closed ? If you Kuiuteers had stuck to the original song and sang the praises in perfect harmony this wouldn't have happened. But really , does anyone know for sure it's gone forever ?
