I’m looking for some feedback on Kuiu’s kutana stretch woven pants, specifically how well they resist pilling and fuzzing up. I’ve been wearing the Wrangler active outdoors pants for the last 5-6 years and for the price they’ve been great, except that after about six months they’re extremely fuzzy and pilled due to wading through sage brush and the like, which only attracts even more burrs and pickers etc. My main reason to go over to the Kutana’s would be to try and fix this but at $125 vs $25 I’d need at least 3 years out of a pair to make it worth it (I’m out most every weekend). Anyone have some experience with these and how they do ?

I've put in probably close to 1000 days in the field now on my 5 pair and they all look brand new, zero piling. Well some have burns in them and some blood stains, but the fabric is perfect lol.

I second all of the above. These are my favorite pant, great in warm weather and can be worn pretty low with a base layer underneath. I am three years in on one pair and they have no signs of wear.

Currently my favorite pant. Worn them out west, down south, to Africa, etc. Very durable and no pilling. The attack pants will get pilling, but I have not experienced it with kutanas.

Appreciate all the feedback guys… looks like I may very well give them a try !! I was a bit skeptical as the wranglers are 96% nylon and only 4% elastic, while the kuiu’s are 100% nylon, it just seemed like such a small difference it was hard to image 6 months being stretched out to 3 years ! I guess like everything it probably comes down to the quality rather then quantity of material being used 😌

Thanks again !!

They are tighter than I would prefer on my thighs. When I put thermals on they are pretty tight untill I wear them for a bit. I wear a 34x34 and the wait and inseam fit like normal. I deal with the tight thighs for the durability.

As others have said, they have held up quite well, but I wish they made them for guys with something other than chicken legs.

I have a short in-seam and big thighs and a big ass lol. I haven't had an issue with the fit of 38 shorts other than they are pretty loose in the waist, excessively so now that I've lost some weight. I have a couple pair of 36 shorts on the way to try.

You cant go wrong with the Kutana. Only problem as others have mentioned is the fit (which seems to have changed at some point). I'm normally a 32 waist and I couldn't even barely get my upper legs all the way into the new fit 32's, so i had to size up to 34's, which were a significant difference in terms of added material and now are crazy loose and that can get annoying.

Everyone says they are a slim fit. I wear 34 in everything so I ordered 36s and they're way to big. Got 34s and they fit like every other pant I own.
That's crazy, maybe thats true of the 34's but the 32's are stupid tight for my legs. I do have thicker upper thighs and ass but not so much so that it should make that big of a difference.

I usually wear a 34, ended up in a 38 for the Kutana and it still barely fit my legs. I gave up and found another pant that didn't require as much upsizing

I’m a 34 in everything except these. I wear 36 in Kutanas. I love mine and use them a lot. With that said I also still wear wrangler outdoor pants. It’s just hard to not view the wranglers as disposable with how cheap they are so I beat the crap out of them and throw them away if/when they get a hole.

👍… that’s what I’ve been doing with my Wranglers too. I was just not wanting to have to buy pants for a while and hopefully only have to change them out every few years rather then a couple times a year. Plus the added ventilation should be a bonus !

Yes, the vents and pocket threads not falling apart are the biggest upgrades for me with the Kutanas.
