Now that their forum is gone I can't remember how the Yukon gloves fit. I thought they ran a bit small?

They run big. I'd consider sizing down. Sold mine cause they were too big over my tibs. The rubber grip pads were also too stiff to use trigger out of the box.

Hi Mat,

My name is McCade and I am a gear specialist here at KUIU. Below is the measurements associated with each size:

Medium: Length: 7.5in Width: 8in
Large: Length: 8in Width: 8.5in
X-Large: Length: 8.5in Width: 9in

The length can be found by measuring from the base of your palm to the tip of your middle finger. The width can be found by laying your hand flat and measuring across the top four knuckles. From there, you will multiply that number by two to get your width measurement. If you do ever have any questions in regards to sizing feel free to call me at 855-367-5848 ext 277 or send me an email at [email protected].

We can all read the size charts, but sizing on individual pieces can differ from the chart for all manufacturers and Kuiu is especially bad at this. The Yukon gloves specifically are too big over the tibs as they were designed, but having not tried a size down I cannot say whether they would work either. This is one of the things that drives people crazy with Kuiu is having to wait months for something on backorder only to not have it fit and have to wait another couple months to get the right size. Of everything I have tried in Kuiu, probably less than 20% of the items have been true to size which translates into a lot of losses in shipping costs and why I now ask the community before I order anything as MAT has done here.

Don't have the merinos, but I don't think that would fix the problem of the fingers being too big. I just didn't like the sizing throughout the fingers at all. They were way too big and you wouldn't be able to shoot anything with a light trigger pull without an AD. The rubber grip pads were especially way too stiff out of the box, but I think they would soften over time, but the diameter of the fingers was way too big. The Yukon material has some stretch in it, so personally, I think it'd be better a little tight rather than loose. Like I said, I didn't try a size smaller so I can't tell from personal experience what a size down would be like, but it has to be better than ordering the same size.

I typically wear large gloves in sitka or Kuiu merino. I have the medium Yukons and they fit a little big on their own and about right with the 210 merino under them. The thinner sitka merino and old 230 merino are a little thin and the yukon are still floppy. I think you could fit the peloton gloves or sitka traverse gloves under them pretty easy in a sized down yukon.

The Yukon gloves run big. The glove is designed to wear over the top of another pair of gloves, how could they not be oversized?

That's what I figured when I read the specs on the Tib. Yukon's are supposed to fit over two other pairs of gloves.

"Wear alone as a outer layer or over the ULTRA Merino 210 Glove. Complete the glove system with the Yukon Glove when a rain shell is required."

Yukon gloves are mid season insulated, they are not a shell. Sure you can wear liners under them but then you could just as well get the more insulated Northstar gloves. Thanks for the replies.

To be clear there are 2 Yukons, the regular and the pro. The regular ones are just a shell and are the ones that I was referring to. If you are asking about the Yukon Pro, which are insulated, then my above comments on sizing do not apply as I have no experience with them, but I would assume are more correctly sized.
