Kuiu Duty Charges for Canadians?

Hello

Does anyone know why the duty charges for Kuiu items are so much for Canadians? I had a $300 order and had to pay over $100 in duties and taxes. I have ordered plenty of products from the US and have never had such extreme charges upon delivery. Anyone know why this is?

That being said, anyone have a Kuiu Verde Guide jacket in XL they want to get rid so I can return the one that just arrived?

Kuiu clothes are made in China. They are not a NAFTA partner, and as such are subject to an approximate 30% tariff
If you look here: Travellers - Duty and Taxes Estimator

It clearly shows two tariff rates: NAFTA/Non-NAFTA. NAFTA made would have come in at about $36.

When Kuiu was made in the old Arc'Teryx cut shop in North Van the tariff was 0%. All you paid was taxes (GST/HST).
