Kuiu Chugach zipper?

So here it is middle of hunting season, and i just can't stand the zipper on my kuiu chugach nx jacket. Takes me 20 tries to get the thing zipped up. catches worse than a sleeping bag zipper. worst zipper I've ever used on any item in my life.

Has anyone had this issue? how did you resolve it? i can't just send kuiu my jacket in the middle of the season for a warranty thing even if they would warranty it. i can't be without my rainshell this time of year.

I don't know man, I have zero issues with mine. It zips up super easy no binding or anything. I wonder if you just got a bum zipper. Has it always been like that from day one? Or could you possibly have screwed some teeth up on it? Will it just not start or is there a certain place where it catches?

I've got the original Chugach and I've never had an issue. I actually like the zipper on it.

Has to be a teeth issue as there really is not any fabric for it to catch on

dang just me..

i don't think its a teeth issue. it catches on the flap of fabric on the inside of the jacket that is there to help keep water out. i wish i knew the technical name for it so i could tell you exactly what that flap is called.

it was like that from day 1 but its progressively gotten worse. overall i really like the jacket other the zipper.

My Chugach NX has been flawless, even when the kids use it. My Aegis on the other hand...

maybe the inner zipper flap was sown incorrectly and thats why it catches?

something is really off here though. I've never experienced a zipper as annoying as this in my life.

I wonder if the stiffener in it either was not there or has worn out, does the flap flop over when the jacket is zipped half way.

This is a tuff thing to try and explain...

I had the same problem with my Yukon jacket. Tried and tried to make it work. I sent it back and they sent me a new jacket. I couldn't see any reason for it to jam up like it was, but it jammed every time I zipped it up.

That's weird, my Chugach has no problem. YKK zippers are usually very smooth and imo the best out there.

Glad im not the only one, i was beginning to feel singled out

the zipper is fine, it seems like the flap was sown incorrectly which causes the zipper to catch. hopefully ill get it resolved.

Yah if I can recall my zipper was getting caught in the fabric of the jacket.

If it makes you feel any better my Yukon zipper catches all the time too, I'm going to contact them Monday.

My yukon did the same thing.
