Which would you pick for a early Sept Smithers BC goat hunt? I can get Sitka for 40% off but now with the 25% off KUIU sale price will be identical for both. If you had to choose one what would it be? KUIU Chugach NX or Sitka cloudburst? Thanks.

My Cloudburst sees extensive use during spring steelhead on the Wa coast and has held up great. Several years now and I'm just getting to the point I need to re treat the goretex. It's got the best hood of any raingear I've owned. Especially when rowing rock gardens and my head is on a swivel! Every bit as good as my buddies Guide Simms and cheaper. The only times I've used it during hunting season is in zero degrees and windy. Worked fine there too.

I highly recommend the Cloudburst.

I have the original Kuiu Chugach and had the Sitka Cloudburst that I would rotate between the 2 while guiding particularly wet hunts - typically archery elk. These hunts are horse back with wall tents and wood stoves to dry out at night. Both kept me as dry as I could hope and held up well. The Cloudburst seemed to have more features but none that really stood out as must haves but it also seemed to take longer to dry.

Because the jackets were so similar I decided to keep the Chugach since its a bit lighter and more packable and sold the Cloudburst so I could pick up a heavier duty rain jacket. Now to decide between the Sitka Stormfront, Coldfront or Kuiu Yukon.....

If you want the Kuiu Chugach NX best hurry up as their website is already showing backorders on some sizes/colors. It is a steller jacket.
