Hey all, I have contacted Kuiu, but in the meantime I wanted to see if anyone has dealt with this and had any ideas. I discovered a cracked buckle on the pack that is in a sewn loop. I don’t see an easy way to replace it. It is one of the top load lifter buckles that connects to the shoulder straps.

Search for a split-bar (also called “no-sew” or “field repair”) female buckle of the same size/style. Finding a compatible buckle can be a bit of a crap shoot because not all brands/styles mate with each other. You could buy a mating pair and replace both the female and male buckles on your pack. Hudson Supplies, Mil Spec Monkey, and Rocky Woods are good places to look.

I just looked and don’t have a female Kuiu buckle. Here’s the larger size that can be found with a notch to slide over a sewn loop. If you get a replacement set (3/4” male and female pair) you can make your own notch with a dremel, small saw or side cutters. Don’t make the notch too big or it can come off under load. Also once cut heat the edges just enough that a spoon can round them over, that takes away the rough edges and won’t fray the loop. Another option is using one of the quick connectors from the accessory straps (if you got them with the pack). You can get those from Seek Outside if needed. https://seekoutside.com/gatekeeper-set-3-4-size-6-pairs/.
