Thanks for the weights guys....seems more “reasonable” given the durability reports :)

Just picked up the Takur jacket there is a 25% off code someone posted on here, think its ALTITUDE2020 but you may want to check first. To get a Takur shipped for the price of Kuiu Katana is a no brainer IMO.

Ryan - I’m a big fan of kryptek Dalibor pants or Sitka timberline depending on weather and temperatures. I pair with either a Dalibor jacket or jetstream jacket. But I’m thinking of replacing both with the Bora pants and jacket given your comments on breahtability and then adding the takur jacket and pants. Do you think the bora can replace the items above?

Never had the Dalibor pants or Bora pants. The Bora jacket is not a warm jacket compared to the jetstream. But its more water resistance and similar in wind resistance.

I would do a Takur jacket, and Bora pants. One thing to keep in mind, the Takur and Bora breathes WAY better than any Gore Tex piece. If you are in cold weather, layer accordingly, you've been warned. It's crazy how breathable this stuff is and how good the DWR is on it.

The Takur jacket breaths almost too well. Crazy stuff.

Kind of surprised to hear this, breathable = good, but cold = bad...I was justifying the weight of this jacket thinking I could drop a vest and that the additional wind protection from the Takur would make up for an extra layer. Only one way to find out I guess lol.

The fabric tightens up in cold weather, but it still breathes so well that it doesn't lock heat in like other heavy rain gear. On the flip side, you can actually hike around in it and not roast either. It definitely cuts the wind off of you.

Don't drop a layer. It may be heavier than some other rain gear options, but it actually works.

I have using the jacket for a while and like it i use it as a outer layer when it's cold and it works fine with layers underneath and breathes well, right now you can get it for $315 with the 25% off at kryptek or black ovis and free shipping at black ovis

Anyone know if the Arma hoodie will shrink?
They are out of stock in size large, I’m thinking of going with an XL and shrinking it in the wash like I do with my merino wool

I have washed mine a few times and it does not shrink. For reference on size, I am 5' 11'' and weigh 180lbs. The Large fits great with room for layers underneath, I would not go with a XL. For me it would be too big.
Hope that helps.

Received the jacket today...looks to be an awesome piece but the arms are freakishly long for me. Fits everywhere else. Called Kryptek for some feedback on a possible alteration locally and they advised against it saying it would void the warranty.

Does anyone have any feedback on altering a 3 layer rain jacket? Good idea, bad idea? I would have it done professionally of course.

Have you tried it on with layers underneath to see how much that changes the sleeve length? I've got long arms so I didn't notice lol

Yeah I put some layers underneath and it did help and Rifle hunting wouldnt bother me much but archery hunting I could see the extra bunching at the bottom causing some issues.

Just an update here that I will be sending the Takur jacket back...as much as I wanted to like it, I just couldn't get over the sleeves or how the velcro on the end connects the cuffs. Even with a merino layer, Sitka traverse mid-layer and a puffy underneath they were too long and baggy, especially for bow hunting.

As much as I hate to admit it, I will be replacing it with a Kuiu Chugach, which, while a little tighter across the chest and midsection (not as "athletic" as I would like to be) the sleeves fit much better and are actually fairly tight across the wrist without having to bunch the sleeves up at the end. Both in XXL BTW, I am 6 ft 230 lbs.

Man, you bought a XXL in the Takur? I'm 6'3" 220 and run an XL. Without layering a L would fit. I didn't realize you had gone with one that size. Doesn't surprise me at the sleeve length now lol.

Everyone said they fit true to size and I wear an XXL in most everything except the original FL Stormtight which still fits me in XL but leaks. The Kuiu is a bit tight in XXL. I've got fairly wide shoulders and wear a 48 sports coat.
