Ordered a pair of gunslinger gloves a couple weeks ago and finally got to put them to use yesterday.
Build quality is very nice with no visible blemishes or bad stitching that I could find. I wear a size medium glove and these fit perfectly for my hand. Comfort with them on was great as was dexterity adjusting zippers and grabbing gear out of my pack. They are touch screen compatible with a small panel of fabric across the finger. This feature worked great and I was able to manipulate my phone without having to remove the glove. The Pittards leather on the palms lends itself to a wonderful grip on whatever it is was in my hands and is very comfortable. The material on the back side of the glove seems to be some sort of neoprene rubber, while the small fabric panels on either side of the fingers look to be breathable material.
yesterday on the mountain it was around 30 degrees out and the wind was blowing at about 25. I wore the gloves on the hike in and although I was only wearing a day pack and not really exerting myself I immediately notice that my hands were beginning to feel clammy. While hiking even though my hands felt clammy they stayed relatively warm, however as soon as I sat down they began to get cold very quickly. Upon pulling them off to swap out for a different pair of gloves I noticed right away how damp they were inside even though I had not even broken a sweat on the hike in. After giving it some thought its seems as though the neoprene(as neoprene does) held the moisture against my hands and the meager little panels on the side of the fingers was not enough to allow ventilation to occur to combat the moisture. Now I should note that I usually dont suffer from cold hands easily however with the moisture against them with the gloves on it didnt take long for my hands to get cold. I can only imagine that if I was really moving and sweating how much moisture would have built up inside the gloves.
As of right now I am not sure where these gloves would fit in my arsenal of gear. I think they are a bit to warm to wear early season. Probably just about perfect to wear this time of year however with the moisture issue present it kind of negates their ability to keep my hands warm. Definitely not warm enough for late season use.
Hopefully this helps anyone looking at this pair of gloves.
