I bought the Cerdic Hoodie II and took it a few weeks ago into Montana for a 2 week elk hunt. It rained and snowed just about every day out there and I ran the hoodie as my outer layer. The hoodie is now starting to pill pretty bad and just wondering if others have found the same thing? Maybe it is because it was wet and dried so many times. I use the hoodie as my main outer layer on just about everything I hunt so it has taken some abuse and I am not complaining, just wondering if I need to maybe take care of it a little better. I love the versatility of it in a wide range of temperatures with layers, and the hood design is second to none.

Mine is showing a lot of fuzz and small amount of pilling, probably more than it should based on the use. Don't know if this is a function of the material that is used or what, but as long as the functioning is good, it is only "cosmetic?". I'm sure someone has a better explanation than this.

This was a big issue with some of their clothes last year. I have a couple of the hunting shirts and they both look like you took a wire brush to them.

i think its similar to the inside of a sweatshirt. super fuzzy and soft til it goes through the wash a time or to then its just kind of pilled up but works the same.
mine is the worst where my bino harness and pack ride

The cedric II looks like a cool piece. I was intrigued by it. I almost ordered it in black but its odd shape in the pictures turned me off. Anyway, its said to be designed to hold up to what you are doing with it so I find this concerning. Poor polyester material or the spandex in it may be the culprit.

Glad to hear I am not the only one that has seen this issue. While it does kinda P!$$ me off, I am not neccessarily complaining about the functionality of the garment. If they could make this piece like the fabric of my Under Armour hoodie I would be in Heaven! I love wearing sweatshirts much more than a heavy, constricting coat. The Cerdic is still probably my favorite piece of hunting clothing even with the pilling.....that makes it 3D right???

One question does anyone know what the difference between the first gen Cerdic and the gen II is?

I was interested in one of these but may hold off due to pilling issue. It may or may not be an issue, has anyone contacted Kryptek to ask them their thoughts on it?

i wouldnt hold off, i freakin love this thing!

I think I may considering they are on sale right now. They posted a discount code on their Facebook page that is valid through November or until supplies last. Wonder if they are doing this in anticipation of releasing another version?

My girlfriend asked Kryptek (powertex group) about it with her sweatshirt and they said sorry and gave a little discount towards a future purchase. Never commented if it was normal or not.

The printing process makes the material less resistant to the fuzzing. So when the material was approved, it was before the printing process.

This doesn't affect the performance of the fleece....just makes it fuzzy.

Put it on, grab a razor and shave it. Minus the shave cream....

Should work, you can shave most anything that pills.

My kratos puffy is pilling on the sides where there is fleece. Kind of annoying for a 150 dollar jacket.
