I’m needing a jacket that is good for when I’m spot and stalking mule deer in Nebraska from October to December as well as treestand hunting with the correct layers. Let’s say 20-55°. Windy is a guaranteed, wet is a probably. Which would you choose? Or is there a better option?

I got a jetstream. Seems too light for what you want and it's rain resistant. I run warm and it would be too light for me. The exception would be if you wore a puffy and rain jacket in combination with the Jetstream. If you run warm this combination would work. Depending how cold and wet and whether stalking or sitting in tree stand you could take off the puffy and or rain jacket.

I run pretty warm too. I was thinking I could wear my merino shirt and my heavy vest I like and could probably get away with either jacket.. just torn on what I want thanks for the advice! If I decide it’s not warm enough, I’ll just stick with my heavier coat that hasn’t ever failed me in cold weather!

The Bora has a tricot lining in it and is meant for layering. You can wear it comfortably as a stand alone piece or layering underneath for cold conditions. It has the C-Change laminate that will keep it windproof and breathable unless you are static where it will adjust to your body temp and help maintain your body heat.

Hope this helps!

Think it’s a better jacket than the Jetstream? Lol I think I’m gonna pick up the Bora

I ran the jetstream on top and bora pants. The bora breathe a LOT better than the Jetstream.....a lot better.

The jetstream is cut nearly perfect. The bora will be louder in brush.

Bora material is simply radical and if it could be silent it would be the holy grail. Ive used the combo in rain, snow temps to -15*f and up to 65.....the bora fabric is just incredible.

Any further thoughts on this after the 2021 season? I’m trying to choose a new jacket and these seem like the front runners. Thanks!

This jacket it’s great for wind protection and very durable. It won’t even required you to have rain jacket over it, it has the schoeller fabric which sheds water like no other material I have seeing. The only reason why it’s not called waterproof it’s because the seams are not taped. Unless you are hunting in Alaska where it’s raining everyday or on a fishing boat where you are constantly wet you will most likely not need a rain jacket over it. It will definitely will do the job in other normal conditions where you encounter rain here and there. The material seems super durable and the fabric breathes like no other let’s hot air out and closes when cold outside.

I mixed a bit of silicone and mineral spirits and applied it to the stitching on my bora pants....they're pretty much waders now.
