KRG Echo - Sporterish version of bravo for tikkas

I was there for the comparison, and also shot both one after another at the same target. It was instantly noticeable how much better the Rokstock was at controlling recoil and spotting your impacts.

Due to the Rokstock staying on the target, I was also able to make second and third hits on the target quicker than I could with the echo. It was also very easy to tell the difference in muzzle jump on the echo by watching the shooter from the side, it was jumping off the pack, the rokstock did not.

One thing that I don’t believe was mentioned yet, is the annoying vibration or sound that you could feel/hear transferring from the comb to your head while shooting the echo.

I was simply amazed at the difference between the two. Rokstock for the easy win!

Did you guys run the “tool less butt-pad height mechanism”? Pretty easy to raise the height to mimic a negative comb design similar to the rokstock. I have found it helps manage the recoil significantly. Po’ mans rokstokimage.jpg

No. Using that, it is now at the weight of a Bravo. One can modify nearly any stock to work if weight doesn’t matter.

The Echo wouldn’t be bad if I could figure out what is making it rattle when it’s shot.
Does it have to do with the insert for the cheek riser? I want to say mine for some reason came with 2 cheek pieces and 1 seemed to have a little rattle, the other did not.

No. That’s the first thing that was checked

In reticle movement- only due to the increased weight.
Interesting. With both having a flat front / toe what makes the rokstok so much better?

I have found that having the bottom of the stock flat has made a big difference in reticle jump for me. I haven't compared enough stocks to compare the difference between some of the other features yet though.

Now I am curious as to how a factory tikka stock would do, because I replaced my T3 adj stock with a KRG echo and there is a noticeable reduction in both recoil and vibration.

The rear sling swivel is threaded in to a loose t-nut. I had to take the butt pad off to shake mine out after I removed the swivel. Maybe that's the culprit?

@Formidilosus, this is a good recommendation if you've already ruled out the cheek riser hardware rattling. My echo doesn't have any rattling at the shot, so I assume you have something loose in the buttstock.

Shot the echo today side by side with the Rokstok and “echo” the comments as others - the Rokstok is better handling the recoil. I was frustrated enough I’m putting my 6.5 PRC in a Rokstok and a 223 in the echo instead

I see KRG sells four different adjustable buttpads, which one fits the echo?

The bravo polymer?

Still like my Echo, never shot a Rokstok I don't like the aesthetics so won't spend my money on one.

Yes.

Finally got to the range with my echo (replaced an Allterra). I have the adjustable height buttpad and have it up above the bore. I am pleased with it, the grip is such a huge improvement over the Allterra. I need to do some more positional shooting with it, but seeing impacts on beat up steel at 4-5-600 yds from prone was no issue with a 6.5x284 shooting 140 ELDMs at 2880 fps.

I did not notice any odd noises from mine, but I had ear plugs and earmuffs on.

I originally had a 6.5 PRC in my echo and did not like it (as much as I wanted to). After moving the 6.5 PRC to the Rokstok and shooting it today, there was a massive difference in perceived recoil and accuracy. It felt like a totally different caliber. At this point I wish I just bought another Rokstok but I wanted to try the echo. I am hoping I like the echo with a 223 in it instead and I will keep you posted on a very low recoiling rifle comparatively.
