KRG Echo - Sporterish version of bravo for tikkas

I just got one in the other week to use with a factory stainless 6.5 PRC T3x. I am installing a Spartan pic rail and doing a few other tweaks, but should have it finished in a week and will hopefully get to shoot it in the next few weeks. Shouldering it and messing around with just the stock, it feels very usable and I like it a lot thus far. It’s technically a $300 stock but really it’s $400 with the custom additions people will want with it.

What’s the balance point of that rifle? Wasn’t sure if you placed it on a barricade and if it would nose dive.

No idea I don’t like to overthink things like that, it’s a good stock better than the OEM one for sure.

Virtually nothing . Nothing from KRG or typical “gun tubers”. It’s like there was no marketing initiative.

Is this the stock release equivalent of Led Zeppelin’s “Presence” album in 76?

I over think things as a hobby. If I don’t have something to overthink, I’ll go find something.

First 10 round group. It shoots. Installing a SRS rail amd a 3-9 SWFA. Done.

I’ve had one for a month and a half and am really enjoying it. Big improvement in ergonomics over the factory stock in my opinion. Vertical grip, trigger reach, and texturing are great. The forend does have some flex but run some extra barrel clearance and you’re fine.

I like the factory tikka mags and didn’t want to use metal AICS mags on a hunting rifle. The bravo isn’t an option for long action cartridges either.

Mine comes in at 46.2 Oz with 2 LOP spacers and a short arca rail installed, so it’s still 8 Oz lighter than a bravo which isn't trivial on a hunting rifle.

If someone is looking for a reasonable weight, affordable chassis to use on a medium or long action cartridge with factory tikka mags, I think the echo is a great fit. If your use case is way different, it probably isn’t the chassis for you.

Ok so I’m considering a basic blued 6.5 PRC and dropping it in an Echo.

Is it me or has this release been kinda muted? Maybe it’s me but I’m not seeing folks holler from the mountain tops they need this chassis.

I like mine a lot and would buy another.

I put a 7PRC in one bc the added weight and Tikka mags were desirable. I prefer shooting the PRC in the Echo over the Rokstok, admittedly I didn’t give it much of a run in the Rokstok.

I was worried about the butt stock not being completely flat on the bottom, but it has proven to be comfortable and improved my ability to grip the stock when shooting prone.

My Tikka CTR mags in a Bravo seem to miss a pickup on occasion, but that is likely user error on setup. So reg Tikka mags are an improvement in reliability.

I’ve been shooting mine a good bit. Only changes I would like to see is no hook on butt and a little stiffer up front.
The lack of love is probably due to it being Tikka specific and not using AI pattern mags. Once you leave Rokslide, the Tikkas don’t get near as much love.

I think Tikkas are pretty well known as a good value and accurate outside of this forum.
