KRG Echo - Sporterish version of bravo for tikkas

T3x that started a a 7RM. It cycled fine and was barely touching, but I’m good at breaking stuff so I adjusted it.

Mine only clears by a few thousandths, so I wouldn't be surprised if some stocks had contact just due to the tolerance of their plastic molding for the stock and cheekpiece. KRG definitely could've added more clearance in there without getting too close to the area that a shooter's cheek actually contacts.

The grip on the Echo is ambidextrous. With some Dremel work, could a left hand action drop in it. Asking for a friend.

ya its common people have had them machined out for left hand bolts. If you search krg bravo thread I am sure you will find some post about it

My Echo showed up has anyone plugged the giant hole in the cheek piece? So the stock doesn't fill with stuff n things while hiking.

Did anyone mount a Tikka with a Proof Sendero type profile barrel? Is there clearance? I'm waiting on an Oregon Mountain Rifle CF prefit. The shank is 1.120" for 3" then tapers to 1". I know their website says "varmint" profile at .950 at the end of the forend. If it does touch a little can it be sanded for clearance? Not sure if this is an option with the sporter contour insert. Messaged KRG and still waiting for response.

Here are some weight differences of the Tikka stock and KRG Echo. My research before ordering wasn't finding a lot. This IMHO would be a well kitted factory stock vs a comparable Echo.

Factory stock with an aluminum pic rail (Seekins precision?) and a Mathew fabrication cheek riser and tool less adjust. 36 ounces.

KRG Echo with tool less cheek piece knob, short arca rail, aluminum L2 pic rail, and 3 LOP spacers weighs in at 46 ounces.

All in all not as much of a weight gain as I was anticipating.

That does not look like it's seated on the recoil lug to me.

I had to use the bench grinder to take about an 1/8 of an inch little bevel on the cheek piece to prevent the bolt from hitting. It seemed like with the 6.5 PRC (I think I read all Tikka 6.5 PRC have the LA bolt stop) it felt like it was basically simultaneously hitting the stop and the cheek piece. Either way it took about 30 seconds to fix and I still like the stock a lot. I got lucky that the width of my grinding wheel basically was a perfect fit for the little inside width of the cheek piece between those two little tabs.

mods to the stock.

Can the recoil pad be installed upward without the tool less butt pad mechanism? Seems I’ve heard some people doing that and I wasn’t sure if there were holes to receive the screws.

For anyone that has done this, wouldn’t this affect running a cleaning rod? I don’t want to have to unscrew the butt pad to clean the gun.

I can't remember what the inside of my bravo was like. The echo only has 2 holes. You would need to create your own threaded studs to mount into. If I'm remember correctly it's hollowed out around the holes.

Haven't done it to my Echo, but on did on the Bravo, just drilled new holes in the plates at the desired height. Haven't cleaned a barrel in years, so can't say on that.

Ok so I’m considering a basic blued 6.5 PRC and dropping it in an Echo.

Is it me or has this release been kinda muted? Maybe it’s me but I’m not seeing folks holler from the mountain tops they need this chassis.

Vortex Razor HD LH 3-15x42, Silencerco Harvester 300, came in at 9.0 lbs.

Has the narrower front channel and looks perfect with the skinny barrel.

What’s the balance point of that rifle? Wasn’t sure if you placed it on a barricade and if it would nose dive.

Outside of Rokslide many people have poo pooed the echo due to its weight
They all say "should have just gotten a Bravo etc.

Others wanted the echo to use AICS pattern mags.

Others didn't like the forend flex.

It seems people just like to complain and it didn't meet the needs of many.
