Kowa TSN 553 vs Larger Scopes

I have been envious of this scope since it came out currently using Vortex Razor 50mm.

For those of you who have used this scope for a season or more are you still satisfied with it. Or are you upgrading to a Swarovski 65mm.

The thing I like best about my Vortex is it always finds its way into my pack. I hesitate on a bigger scope 65mm or larger thinking I may leave behind.

I've used mine extensively next to my friends swaro 65. Besides it being more narrow, I really don't think I am giving up much in performance.

Your giving up light,edge to edge clarity,total clarity,and field of view....if that's not super important for your style then the kowa is awesome...great scope for the size

Is your friends by chance a sts or stx. The price difference jumping to sts isn't that big but stx is more than double to kowa.

It was easy at first to decide to keep it and sell the Swaro 80hd, after a year of using it I made the right choice for me, very happy with the Kowa.

I sold my STM65 for the Kowa and have never regretted it. I later sold my ATS80HD too. The kowa and my Swaro 15’s do what i need for big glass.

I'll agree on the light gathering and field of view. Clarity at similar magnifications? I'll have to differ on that one. Compared to my AT'S 65 HD with the 20-60, clarity is a wash between the 2. Maybe the 25-50 eyepeice shows more of a gap. Maybe my eyes aren't good enough to see it.

I'm comparing with the stx...but it was a obviously clearer in every way to my eyes... comparing the lil kowa to a 65 stx really isnt fair...the kowa is awesome for what it is

I didn’t see a big difference in clarity with the 25-50 I had.

Lots of good feedback and seems like alot of satisfied Kowa owners. I think I may have to give one a try.

I have one and have zero desire for a swaro 65. I do have a meopta s2 for when weight is less critical.
