Kowa 664 vs Athlon Ares

Anyone compared these two spotters? Anything good or bad. I’m looking for lighter weight and one that doesn’t degrade as much in higher zooms.

I haven’t looked through the Kowa but I would be fairly sure it’s a step up from the Athlon.

Agree with ram, the ares is all right but I wouldn’t expect it to compete with the kowa

The Kowa is superior to the Ares ED, however, it is twice the price and not OMG look that that difference better. The Kowa TSN-55, 77 and 88 series are their incredible units. The other scopes use their TE-9Z eyepiece which is the limiting factor for those spotters
