I was lucky enough to hunt with Greg Acord on Kodiak last spring and get an opportunity at this beautiful animal. He came to Greg's call crossing straight in front of me at 10 yds, saw me, turned and took 2 steps toward me looking me straight in the eye, then turned again toward Greg when I had a chance to slip a broadhead behind his shoulder. 30 seconds and 80 yds later he was down. To say that was a spiritual experience is an understatement. As I watched the arrow buy up to the fletching it felt as if I was now responsible for that bear. It turns out to be the new #17 P&Y and maybe the 3rd largest with a trad bow. Gear: Black Widow recurve @ 56lbs. 300 gr single bevel Tuffheads on cedar shafts. And a beautiful euro mount by Bone Heads of Gasport NY. And of course the amazing Greg Acord.Bear and G and J shoulder.jpeg

As a fellow trad hunter, getting after brown bears with a stick bow is absolutely epic...idk if I'll ever have the testicular fortitude for it

Pure awesomeness right there.

I guess you throw your nuts over the shoulder so you squash them in the truck door... ;)
