Kodiak Brown Bear Spring vs Fall

My mother in law drew a spring Kodiak brown bear tag, i want to make sure she gets her best chance at a bear. Not necessarily going for a giant, but how early is too early? We are thinking about the first two weeks of April and trying to snag a few goats before the registration tag is up (end of March).
First week of May is like the alarm comes on for them to show often...

You'll be happy on either hunt. Fall is the salmon run, spring is when the come out of their dens. If ya want to support veterans look in to Jason Bunch at Kodiak Backcountry Adventures. Another guide is Rick Hoskins. Both retired military and I was stationed with both in Kodiak. I only hunted with them one time each since I was a resident and could do my own thing. Bunch cut his teeth with one of the best, Mr Rohr.

I don’t hunt it anymore. What does that tell you? A second opportunity IF you don’t draw a tag tells you the draw areas are different.
I could go hunt it pretty cheap every year if I felt like it. But I never once have for myself. Not worth it. Not many bears, a lot of nocturnal ones

Ignore that, there's well over 3k bears on island and the first week of May is like a light switch for them to crawl out of the dens. Plenty of bears day-lighting at the rivers in the fall as well as running around eating gut piles and berries.
