What's the vegetation like there? Is it open enough to navigate where you want to go, or is it impenetrable? I'm specifically trying to figure out if hiking up onto the bench behind the cabin is going to be a major pain or not. Hard to tell from satellite imagery what is brush and how thick it is. Thanks!
I have no personal experience at Uganik Lake, but if it's anything like much of the rest of Kodiak Island, it's a jungle.

In a cabin, on a mountain, in "Wilderness" Alaska.

There is a good, cleared trail back of the cabin. It goes up to open grass fields. Opposite side of lake is thick. Going up the creek that flows into the lake is pleasant, more like open woods, Mostly Cottonwood trees.
