Been wanting to pick up one of these two for a while now, just wondering what everyone's preference is. My main uses will be hunting and CC while hiking. If anyone has both, I'd also like to see some comparison pics if you've got any, because I'm also wondering about the size difference. I like aspects of both, just don't know which one to pull the trigger on.

Definitely HPG.
better footprint, better harness, better system. Lots of options and sizes to choose from.

Kinda what I was thinking. I want the space for essentials in the front, but I really like the way the HPG sits up on the chest rather than on the stomache. Now to just find one. Last time I was on HPG's website everything was sold out.

No experience with the Koala so there is no way I can be objective on this other than to say the chest bag concept is a good one. My original Kit Bag is my most useful piece of gear. Im sure there are those who find the Koala the same.

I have used both and like both. I made a modified harness for the koala and now it rides better. I have them for different purposes. They both have pros and cons.

The koala is wider than the kit bag so if you're a small dude it can be an issue. I use my koala for my 7" barreled Ruger Mark III hunter. It won't fit as easily in any of the kitbags. It also has a standard Velcro stitched inside to attach their "holster" and mag carriers.

The kitbags have a better suspension and no internal Velcro.

I sometimes use my FHF gear harness for both as well.

Currently I have the original Koala and the snubby kitbag. The OK is huge, it's like having a pack on your chest while the snubby is tiny. I use 99% of the time. However with a pistol in it it gets tight and harder to draw if I put anything in the front pocket.

If you want any pictures send me a pm with your number or email and I can send some to you.

No experience with the HPG but for over $130, I didn't see that much value in it. Other than that, it seemed like a good and convenient product. No problem drawing my bow or pistol and it seemed fairly secure to my chest with the proper adjustment

I have the Kit Bag, Recon, and Snubby and I like them all, especially my Kit bag. One key item that I do like about the bag is that you can order it with straps that hook into the load lifters on your pack which takes the weight of the bag off of your shoulders and back. Once tied in, I don't notice it. I've had no issues shooting my bow with it fully loaded. It's also handy to carry a pistol concealed when hiking the local trails. Either one is a pretty sweet "murse".
