Exciting gun. I didn't want to make the video too long, but I did shoot it. Even with a 450 grain conical, recoil was tolerable. I was ready for a mule kick but felt more like a punch. Impressive for such a light gun.

Accuracy was good, too. I put 3 shots in 2" at 50 (all the range would let us shoot) with the second two in the same hole. Need to tinker with it, but I'm sure I could get 2" at 100.

You can bet your bippy that you will get better than a 2" group @ 100 once you and the rifle become one...

I wish I could claim this group... it was shot by a pro-staffer back east shooting a 250 grain Bloodline @ 200 yards



I am not the best shooter in the world, but I can live with this - this is the very first 100 yard target I shot with mine... I was shooting a NECG Peep site - the one that was on the rifle you shot.

If so, I'd say a 2.5" group size with peep sights?

Correct... 6-7-8 were the last three and #7 was my own darn fault. And that was after the last slide and glide sight adjustment.

This is with a scope - actually the scope and rifle you shot...

I'm liking that 100 yard target group.
You illustrate why every shot has to be tracked when you're tuning a muzzleloader. I think much of the accuracy woes we hear about are from guys getting sloppy, missing a spit patch, not seating the bullet the same, etc. Tracking like you do will reveal those little mistakes that add up.

Robby, I think the more you use this muzzleloader the more you'll love it. In my limited time with it I've been quite pleased.......my first outing to the range produced a 2" 4 shot group at 100 (with its factory sights). I haven't spent enough time at extended range or with alternative sights, but I do feel it has the most potential for any "out of the box" muzzy on the market.

I have not found much that is difficult loading in the ULite. If you are using .452 bullet in a sabot it is fairly east to find a sabot that will work for you. I use the MMP HPH-24 sabot.

If you are loading conicals you might need a short starter to get it through the crown. I use .503x350-400-460 grain Bull Shops (lead) and they are slip fit. Insert them in the crown and push them through the crown with your thumb or gun rod.

I have used quite a bit of BH in the ULite and the Mountaineer. The breech plug was designed to shoot BH with regular W209 primers

That was my understanding. If I never use pyrodex again, it won't be too soon. I have an older LK 93 and want to upgrade to something better. BH209 and SS is a must for the new rig. Never thought it'd take 5 minutes to pick out a new one and am completely sold on the Ultra-Light.

That was something that turned me away from knight... was they were almost impossible to load with a fouled barrel.

Have you tried powerbelts through the new knight?

I have not shot any power belts in my Knights - but can not imagine they would be any problem.

Now you have me thinking.... which often is not good!!!

What bullets were you having problems with? Barnes bullets can be problematic depending on the sabot!

Ignition... what system are you shooting caps or primers?
