Knight ultralite with Williams FP peep

So the FP_Legend_TK peep is not meant to fit on the ultralite. The stock is too thick and it has to be set in the middle position (bolt hits it when you go about 2 notches lower) but this should be close to where it needs to be for a 100 yard site in based on my measurements from where my NECG was. After reading Jim's articles I decided I wanted more then the NECG peep.

If you are handy and not afraid to modify a perfectly good stock the FP will easily work on the ultralite. My next task is to grind down the right side of the windage adjustment as it was designed to look good but in doing that they add extra material that isn't needed. This will give the bolt more clearance if I do need to lower the peep.

Here is my current test fit. Need to sand a tad more and then get this thing sighted back in as my hunt is in 3 weeks! I was going to wait until after this season but well I'm not good about waiting when my mind is set. The good thing, the knight is super simple to dial in and I already have a good load combo so that should be a quick process.

In looking thru the peep, I think I like it better with the peep removed and use the site as a ghost ring or whatever it is called. I'll play with both options but the peep hole seems small.

Now don't get me wrong, I'll still keep my max distance to 150 as my load is only 3" diff from 100 to 150, but I won't be shooting long range while hunting but I will test it out just for fun before I go.

Here is the current pic.

Oh yeah, the stock will get repainted, I'll either go with the magpul brown or sniper gray since I already have these two colors on hand.

Thanks! Pretty excited get it to the range. I went with the Williams fire site with hood. Really like that front site. This was originally not the western edition so I had to get the holes drilled, never did get to use a stock front site as after reading sabotloaders posts I went straight to the fire site. My buddy just put one on his Mountaineer and really likes it over the stock front.

Running out of time so refinishing the stock will have to wait.

That is the setup I wanted too. I did the stock mod today. It looks alright I think. Mine is the Mountaineer and not the ultra lite. I will probably have this stick hydro dipped at some point. I'm not much a fan of the green laminate stock.
Thanks for the idea!

I agree that really does look like it is the way it is suppose to be! Really nice job!

And the Williams FP is a great peep - It really has some good advantages -> 1/4 minute clicks - wide range of movement - and in low light you can remove the aperture and use it as a 'Ghost Ring' sight.

The only thing I really wish it had was the Quick Release button that the Lyman's have so you could quickly change the elevation adjustment.

Well the setup took my first muzzleloader deer, worked great. Super simple mod to do and has so far held up to over 30 shots since I did it. Now didn't really need it as I shot my deer at 86 yards :). The 300gr Thor dropped him in his tracks.
