Knight Ultralight - Where to buy?

Just buy the Warne brand for the knight disc, they only sell the one I believe. Think I got it from Brownells.

Mike will have to answer the comparison as I've only used the necg.

What bases are those? I may want the scope mounts also as I will be using this gun for all my hunting. Is the Williams the WGRS-DISC/T-BOLT?

That should be the one - I was thinking it was the 'Legend' but that is for the FP sight. Let me go look at the catalog. The one for the DISC is correct.

Also how do you remove the breach on the Ulite and is it easy and easy to clean. I hear people complain about the cleaning difficulty of the bolt style.

Knight includes a breech plug wrench but at home I use a 7/16" deep socket and ratchet.

This picture shows what I use.

The bare primer conversion should be very clean using a W209 primer - if it is not it is very easy to fix so that it is,

Do you have a link for the base?

The bases are Warne Maxima M826-826m and Leupold makes one just like it called a QRW base and you want the one for the Remington 541

Any comparison on the NECG vs WGRS, pros/cons?

The WGRS is less expensive and less expensive to install - The NECG is also good and slide and glide type adjustment - you can take the the peep aperture out and use the site as Ghost Ring as you can the WGRS. If you might use a scope the NECG is the way to go - I think.

Knight Ultra-lite - check
209 breach kit - check
NECG peep - check
Warne mounts - check

Waiting very impatiently for it all to get here - Double check.

Thanks guys.

Why do you wrap the plug? I have never seen that done.

It replaces the need for grease on the plug so it doesn't get stuck. If you use Blackhorn 209 it supposedly isn't needed, I still add a little anti seize to my plug. The white tape is less messy.

I would also get the Williams front site setup, my buddy used his stock front site for a week and then moved to this setup after trying mine. It is just super easy to get a consistent alignment. To me it is very similar to archery, looking thru a peep and centering the site ring naturally with your eyes in the peep then your front site is always centered and consistent.

I'm new to ML but for me using this setup is very comfortable coming from mainly archery hunting.

I am also mostly an archery hunter so I can see your point. Which sight is it again? Is it a direct fit?

Mike will know off the top of his head probably. I can't remember other then it is a fire site and made by Williams. The ramp, hood and site should be under $50 total.

Also it is in some of his knight ultralight threads if you search.

Thanks. That front sight ramp screws right in or did you have to have a hole tapped for it? I noticed it has 2 screws and in the pics of his gun I dont see that back screw.

Where the site goes in the ramp has a screw under it. Once you install the ramp you have to tap the fire site into the ramp and the just slide the hood in until it clicks in place.

So the only reason you see one screw is one is covered by the site.

Got the gun already. So far I like it. Waiting for the 209 breach to take it to the range. I did try the fit of some bullets in it and noticed it is tighter than the CVA was. The .501 thor is to tight to load. Felt like it was stuck in the barrel. My knurled Barnes fit great though.

The .501 Thor fits mine perfect, .502 is tight. The hornady fpb had to be sized to fit by pushing the bullet backwards down the barrel (tip inserted first instead of base of bullet) and out the breach plug area (breach plug removed of course). Might try this with your thors.
