Knight Ultralight - Where to buy?

Anyone know of a good price on one? I may be selling the CVA I just got back and just sold my T/C.

Should add I would want the 209.

Do you need the open sights on the rifle or can you use a scope?

Right now the best buy in your area is probably Sportsman Whse. @ about $750 + if you are a vet you will receive a additional discount.

The rifle will normal come with a FPJ setup, which is a Red Plastic Jacket that you put a 209 primer in. I really would suggest that you get the NFPJ model or the Bare Primer system.

There are other places that you might get it for less. Bob's Sporting Goods in Longview, WA - Sunbirds Sporting Goods in Chehalis and possibly the Ranch and Home group. But I am not sure any of them will ship to you.

Local Sportsman's didn't have one. Gonna call around tomorrow. They do have the western one online. Could I just get a 209 breach plug easily?

Yes but it isn't cheap. I was going to order up a bare primer breach for mine and it was $95 plus shipping.

Know because you also need different bolt handle and housing! If they have a Colorado Legal Western it would work but because of the installation of sights it is more expensive.

Sportsmans guide does have it but is $50 more

Look at what I just found... If you go after this make sure to ask questions. It says 209 but has the sights and the bolt is open so it looks like a Western but he might just be using a stock picture.

Well I found one at a Sportsman's but it didn't have sights. So back to looking.

A gun smith can drill the holes and mount your sites for a few bucks per hole. That's what I had to do.

I don't have a gunsmith local. I may just order from Knight. I would have to travel to get one anyway so with free shipping it would be about the same. That way I can get the bare primer for sure too.

Wait a minute on the Sportsmans web sight shows that is all they have but it will be a cap ignition. So if you bought that one you would need to purchase a bolt housing and a Breech plug. Knight does make one specifically for Colorado that way. Wonder if you could look around some Colorado stores and see if you come up with one...

I wish you could use a Williams FP peep sight on them but the Kevlar Stock is just a little bit to thick - so the next alternative is the Williams WGRS. The only reason it is down on the list - it is a 'slide and glide' sight but once you get it set it is set! Here is a pic Another good thing about the Williams in the low light you can take the peep aperture out of the sight and use the sight as a 'Ghost Ring setup.'



I use a NECG Weaver mount peep but the only reason is so that I can switch back and forth from it to a scope.





The current front sight will work fine but someday down the road you might want to switch the front sight out for a new Williams set up like this.



I really like it - it gives you the illusion that you are looking through a 1X scope.

What bases are those? I may want the scope mounts also as I will be using this gun for all my hunting. Is the Williams the WGRS-DISC/T-BOLT?

Also how do you remove the breach on the Ulite and is it easy and easy to clean. I hear people complain about the cleaning difficulty of the bolt style.

So I called Bobs and they do have one they will ship me. It is a western and the conversion from Knight is only $80. So I will have both ignitions for less than one from Knight directly.

I personally don't see how anyone can complain about the cleaning process on the Knight's. Well if they're anything like my Disc Extreme they clean up very easy and I'm no cleaning guru either... My experience (which is very little) maybe 100 shots through my Disc Extreme with T7 fffg has been great, never had a hard time cleaning it but I do try to get to it within a day of shooting it. And also I usually run a wet and dry patch through it atleast every 3 shots while on the range. And break my breach plug atleast a couple times, also pull it out right away when I'm done shooting for the day. Breech plug is pulled with either the tool they supply or a deep (I think 10mm) socket with a couple inch extension and ratchet. (Kudos to sabotloader for the breach puller idea and about everything else I've learned!)

Nice score! I also run the necg and Williams hooded front site (thanks to Mike). Don't get the weaver base if you run this peep as it is too tall, the Warne base is the ticket.

The breach plug is super easy to remove, just remove the bolt and they include a long tool that just unscrews the plug. It is a super easy system for cleaning.
