In my quest to snag some pants I can use for any outdoor activities (yard work, hiking, hunting etc) that will do the trick 99% of what I want, minus hip vents, I happened to walk buy the Kirkland Tech pants in Costco Saturday. They had three colors - gray, brown, and black. Grabbed the gray and brown. For $19.99, and the ability to return whenever - I saw it as a no brainer to snag two pairs.

The pants come with one rear zippered pocket on the seat, one open pocket, and one zippered leg/thigh pocket. The thigh pocket fits an iPhone 13pro no issues. The waist is spot on for what I typically wear- 34. Initially the thigh area seemed tight but I quickly forgot about it when I was out working the yard. Unlike some other pants - like the wrangler ATG - the length was actually correct and not bell bottom like depending on where they were made.

I put the gray set to the use immediately - and wore through roughly 6 hours of yard work today. No issues - even in the 97+ heat. With some of the wrangler pants or similar I have issues with the seat/legs not stretching so well and ride up. no issues.

Minuses - don’t have an integrated belt or hip vents. Or say Sitka, Kuiu, or first lite on them.

Overall - if your local Costco has them, I’d say give them a shot. I may go back and get one more pair of each just because I know they cycle through and don’t always carry the same stuff. I’d definitely buy a bunch of these over other tech pants for three to 10 times the price.

Good Review

I buy too many of their $15 to 20 tech pants. These with the cotton blend are comfy and feel less clingy. I usually buy the all synthentic models with Kirkland, Orvis, Eddie Bauer labels. I won't be wearing the ones you reviewed hunting or wet wading but are great travel or around the yard pants.

Thanks

Yeah I tend to go all synthetic - I’m just lacking in finding a brand which has the light material and room in the seat and legs. Most of the synthetic are just tight and expected to stretch

I really like these pants as well, but they are a bit warmer than the wranglers- at least for me. I don't love them for hunting/hiking- but for travel, camping, and around the house they are great.

I’ve figured out that the wranglers are completely different pants depending where they are made/what store you buy them from. I have a pair that are labeled ATG, but are thicker than the Costco ones. I have another pair that are thinner - but feel like spandex in fit. QC is the price you pay for cheap pants it seems.

Of course the last pair of FL pants I had were very similar - and cost wayyyyy more.

you are 100% correct. At least the walmart wranglers are much thinner/lighter and a little more spandexish
