That should help you if your willing to work. I wish the majority where I like to hunt would road hunt lol

It can help, but aside from our wilderness areas, the NF our here is very heavily covered in roads

Find a way to limit road hunting. In CA, we have an obscene amount of people who drive around in their pickups dressed in full camo, yet never step foot outside of their vehicle until they see a deer, bear, etc.

You dont want those guys off the roads. They drive deer into the areas we're hunting

I 100% agree, although it does drive me nuts when seeing that road hunters often end up more successful than those doing it right

One OTC deer tag in CA. With the option to draw a second one.

Make hound hunting for lions and bears in CA legal again!

Open season on hogs in CA.

Do away with CA's modified preference point system, young hunters are really screwed by this system. Go to bonus points squared for all tags so people have a better chance. Or random all together.

Recall Gavin Newsom, not really hunting related but a guy can dream.

Azone, is also love to see a different point system. I know that I will likely never draw a bull elk tag, the Goodale buck hunt, or a sheep tag. Points squared might really help out a lot of people.

He just signed to no hunting bobcat law. I think you are on point.

Many of the roads are cut through natural migration and travel routes so road hunters will bump into some deer. Generally smaller bucks though as bigger bucks are too smart for that nonsense
The hardcore road hunters also only tend to hunt weekends the Tuesday after the rifle opener most of those roads are empty and the back country is very quiet still

You’re not wrong. Archery season is nice, most of those guys do not archery hunt. You have changed my mind a bit on that, still drives me nuts though lol

I feel your pain. I've never liked the way that 75 percent of elk tags are for max points only. I've been applying for a tule bull tag since I was 13.....I'm 30 now and sittin on a pile of points to no avail. I should be max points for elk but someone (post office or fish and game) lost my app one year when we still had to mail them in. "Were sorry for your inconvenience, hopefully it doesn't happen again next year" is what I was told, FML sometimes.

as a retired game warden, nice to see some "punisher the poachers more" :)

mine-

settle the corner hopping issue (in favor of allowing it, with the caveat you better be very, very close to said corner)

get our grizzly season back, has been far too long and grizzlies are more than fully recovered (in Montana anyways)

I would like to see it flipped, 10-25% to max point holders, and the rest in a points squared type method like you said.

I’m just seeing “right” from an ethical standpoint. I don’t personally feel that driving around with alcohol in the vehicle and taking potshots at anything that moves is ethical

since we are talking king, I would limit all hunting activities to friends and family only and exterminate all who disobeyed my cree😁;)

That I could probably not complain about it. Make tule elk once in a lifetime per sex. (One cow, one bull)
The problem with Cali is demand will always outpace supply.
