Kimber Subalpine and more..

I guess we all know the name for gores new pattern that's been leaked now. I wonder if the moss green has the same texture as a black Montana stock

I guess they are also releasing the "Kimber Afognak" after old Kodiak bear guide Hal Waugh. He really liked the little 358 win.

It's supposed to be in 358 win and come with a 16" barrel.

Here is a sneak peak pic I found leaked:

Likely more details will be released at SHOT Show.

Is the barrrel profile on the Subalpine the same as the Mountain Ascent?

Liked the camo better, and No break means less money. Excellent!

I hope they still make the grey Montana stock?

Not sure about the barrel but it looks like the bolt is not fluted like the mountain ascent. Would like hold some of these rifles and see the differences. Was gonna sell my mountain ascent and just get a Montana, now I'm not sure what to do with the choices.

Why would you sell? What caliber?

I really liked the looks of the Subalpine.

Someone mentioned in an earlier thread that he'd like the Mountain Ascent barrel profile on the Montana.

To me it looks like the metal is the same on both the MA and the Subalpine, but the latter lacking the muzzle break? And, the difference in weight is because of that?

Really like my mountain ascent I just like to get new things all the time haha. Current MA is 270 and I would like to get a Montana in 280 ackley instead.

To me the subalpine looks like it's the same rifle as the MA without the brake and fluted bolt knob.

Anyone know the timeline for the new models? I've had my eye on a 6.5 Creedmoor forever but hate the MA optifade pattern. Problem solved

You know, I really wish rifle manufacturers would shorten their fore ends when they shorten the barrel. It's probably just me, but the aesthetics of that thing are ghastly. It looks like a backyard chop-job.

Of course when you shoot it you'll need your hand on the forearm in the same comfortable position as all the other rifles looks be damned

Sure wish the stock on the 358 had a bit more drop so a peep sight could be mounted low. That rifle is built for convenience
of carry and I just don't see a scope on it.
